Excuse me!

Waiting in a busy shopping centre for a lift today. Couldn't take the stairs as had a buggy with me. Waited for a while, others joined the "queue" - no buggies, wheelchairs, walking aids etc to be seen. Lift arrived, technically I was first, but hey ho.

Young woman, late teens / early twenties gets on. Then man carrying a toddler gets on. Me with buggy gets on. Then mans wife gets on and barges into me. I sarcastically say "excuse me" as no acknowledgement by the woman that she barged into me. Woman's husband has a go at me, very aggressively for "being aggressive". I pointed out that she barged into me - he said she didn't. From where we were standing he wouldn't have known. I was actually really shaken up by his aggressive shouting at me.

WIBU to have sarcastically said "excuse me!"

The irony of him aggressively and angrily laying into me for being aggressive (I wasn't, I was sarcastic) was lost on him.

Twat is a good word to describe him Mr.

I've just realised something as well. He must have seen her barge into me, as I was on the phone at the time. So, if he hadn't seen it, he would have assumed I was speaking to the other person on the phone. The fact he rightly worked out that it was directed at his wife means he must have seen it! I was also not looking at her when I said it.

I should have stuck up for myself more.
