Road Rage

I might be being overly sensitive here as am very pregnant and ready to pop. Does anyone else not understand road rage? In a supermarket car park, pulling very slowly out of a space as cannot see due to two white vans being either side of me. I back out so, so slowly and find someone driving about 30mph who nearly crashed in to me. If they were doing the 5mph they were supposed to be they would be able to have slowed down to let me out. They then proceeded to wind their window down and shout 'stupid fucking woman driver' out of their car window.

I ignored, and drove off, shaking. I KNOW I did nothing wrong and what is funny is that I am ex military and am recently advanced driver trained. I know how to drive. I know what is safe.

How do you deal with other peoples road rage? Why do people get road rage like this? I have never understood it and can't stand when people speak to me like I am a child, or drive up my arse for actually daring to do 60 in a 60 zone.

AIBU to think that road rage is really quite dangerous? For those who suffer from it and those on the receiving end? People get upset at the tiniest of things and bar getting upset because someone has done something dangerous (I can understand this), it's just not necessary...

Sorry. Bit of a rant there but am really stressed out and annoyed the bloke got to me!

I have used many supermarkets who have sections where you cannot reverse in as there is no room for your trolley to unload your shopping. You can't 'pull forwards' as your bonnet would be over the while lines and in the way.

YANBU. When driving around a supermarket car park you have to be aware of cars reversing out etc. 30 mph is a ludicrous speed when going through rows of parked cars.

Very odd these parking spaces and not being able to load shopping into the boot when reverse parking. I've yet to come across a space where this can't be done in 20 years, and that's visiting a different supermarket every day all over the UK.

You've been to a different supermarket every day for 20 years and you've never seen spaces like these? Where if you reverse in you can't get to the boot as there is another car in the way.

Most are like your diagram Oyster

Reverse or forward parked she wouldn't have been able to see exiting a space with vans either side - the correct thing to do is to proceed slowly to allow other drivers to give way or take evasive action. But he was clearly NNOT going at an appropriate speed or was he - he did stop but was just angry someone was in his way. I don't see how he has right of way though - its a carpark and private property - rules of the road don't apply even though they are marked up.

@oysterbabe Wtf? When did I say that?

Do you mean this Greatorb?^

Bluelady · 25/10/2018 10:23

You go to very different car parks to me, Greatorb.

I laugh loudly at angry drivers, they hate it.
