To ask how your Saturdays are being spent?

We were up early today, we've had a chilled out morning and early afternoon watching Netflix and snacking on.. well basically anything in the cupboards and fridges lol. Now we're doing a bit of home D.I.Y and going to blitz the downstairs. Then later on we're going to make some nice food (or a takeaway) and have a snuggle down with a movie. I love Saturdays so much when we actually do something now. Instead of just lazing about not doing anything, even my mental health is seeing an improvement.

What are you all up to? Have a lovely day x

This morning was lovely, just me and 4 year old dd as dh was at work and the two older girls slept out last night. We went and bought some dresses and boots for the 4 year old, got back home, did some housework and washing then my sister came round with my 5 year old niece. Dsis went home and left my niece here so I’m currently watching the two girls play whilst dh sleeps next to me on the sofa - the two older girls aren’t back yet.

Tonight I plan on sitting on the sofa with a glass of wine, a family size bag of crisps and watching a film.

Husband at his volunteering activity today. Me - laundry first thing. Then repotted some plants in the greenhouse followed by strimming, weeding and planting out some perennials in the back garden. Just about to have a bath and make myself look decent, ready to get a nice Indian takeaway for later and some g and t's. My two baby kittens are fast asleep on the kitchen table in the sun. It was absolutely glorious out in the garden - so feeling happy and relaxed.

InterstellarScreamingElla · 20/10/2018 15:48

Today has melted into yet another boring day...we have done nothing other than chocolate Krispy cakes as little one wanted to bake and I just couldn't face it/the mess - although my whole house is a tip at the minute.

Need to start trying to do something but my mood isn't great at minute.

Cooroo · 20/10/2018 15:53

Pokemon Go. And visited the local community library to sign up for volunteering.

FilthyforFirth · 20/10/2018 15:53

Up at 630 having been up most of the night with my 15 month old who has recently decided only losers sleep past midnight.

Tidied the house as my mother and nan are visiting later this afternoon. Spent the rest of the day running around after DS, who does not sit down. He has also resisted all naps today.

Got 5 mins on mumsnet while he is being changed by his dad.

I envy 90% of PP's!

ZanyMobster · 20/10/2018 15:59

Both boys had football matches this morning but now snuggled up on the sofa with DS2 watching The Hunger Games whilst everyone else is watching the local football team.

Redgreencoverplant · 20/10/2018 16:03

Have Dbro visiting while DH and DFriend are on their way back from a wedding. Gorgeous day here so Dbro, DS and I went to a park and walk along the river this morning. Home for lunch and watch a film and then took the scooter round the local streets in the beautiful sunshine. Now starting to think about dinner. DH and DFriend due back in half an hour so will be a full house soon. Strictly tonight :)

Redgreencoverplant · 20/10/2018 16:05

Oh and for those in the nappy and refusing naps stages. I used to read these threads and feel so down about how much better other peoples' weekends were. Love my weekends with my 2.5 year old :)

Bouledeneige · 20/10/2018 16:07

Went to visit my elderly father for coffee and a chat. Came home and ironed some clothes for my DD's first day in a new job.

Did some shopping and came home and tidied up. Fell asleep. About to take DS to the barbers.

cricketmum84 · 20/10/2018 16:08

I've cleaned out all my kitchen cupboards with the help of my 14yo DS as I couldnt reach the top shelf!

Thrown so much stuff away that was out of date I am disgusted by how much money we must have wasted! The oldest thing I found was some almond essence with expiry of Jan 2009...

Am now sat browsing the internet with a bowl of grapes and a G&T while the husband is fitting dash cams into the new car and kids fighting over who's turn it is on guitar hero.

Ready for glitter and strictly later followed by X factor live shows :)

ShowerTheHorse · 20/10/2018 16:09

Taken DD to dance and DS to martial arts this morning.

We all had McDonald's for lunch and DS has a friend round for a sleepover. It's getting very noisy upstairs now, not going to bother doing much else apart from sling some chicken nuggets in the oven later. Will do a big clean tomorrow as there's not much point with a house full of children today!

HenryMouse · 20/10/2018 16:09

Making Halloween costumes!

Thesearmsofmine · 20/10/2018 16:22

We laid in until about 8.30 when the dc all trudged in to our room and had snuggles in our bed. Then a slow couple of hours having breakfast and getting dressed then ds1’s swimming lesson.

Home for lunch and then we’ve been for a walk and play at a nice park this afternoon, not long got for home.

ivykaty44 · 20/10/2018 16:24

Working & then gym. Catch up on some tv later on pc or read. Make some supper & prep the meat for tomorrow

Elmik11 · 20/10/2018 16:25

I'm having the most unproductive day ever and I'm not even remotely sorry haha.
I'm laying on the sofa watching the good place back to back my son (13) is having an Xbox day and my daughter (15) has been in her room listening to very loud music all day. I know I lose mum points for how my day is being spent but we don't get to slob out often so we are making the most of it! Sorry not sorry Grin

stopgap · 20/10/2018 16:27

Husband took children and dogs for a long walk while I went to Pilates. Sorted out some cupboards, then we have a family party this afternoon. No plans Saturday night, which is unusual for us.

Blondie1993 · 20/10/2018 16:28

DS at his dad’s this weekend. Stayed in bed till half 10 reading my book this morning then went a drive and took the dogs a walk up Ben A’an with my boyfriend this afternoon. On the way home now, fancy a Chinese for dinner or lamb stew if someone else is cooking Grin.

SecretWitch · 20/10/2018 16:30

Slept in, daughter off to sports, thinking of take away for dinner and evening of watching classic horror movies.

Taffeta · 20/10/2018 16:34

DS to footy and DD to band this morning
My mum arrived mid morning
Did some gardening in the sunshine
Made lunch
Went for a walk in sunshine
Had a cup of tea
Went to local place with my mum and bought some chi chi Xmas gifts
Nagged DD to do music practice - which she is finally doing ascive taken all her devices away
Will do same with DS to make him have a shower Grin
Off to pub for a swift one with DH (fnar) shortly
Then make supper & watch Strictly

Alsonification · 20/10/2018 16:44

Had a lovely lie in & then got stuck into cleaning & putting up Halloween decorations for my mindees when they come back on Monday. Dd is gone with my parents to my brothers house for the night so ds and myself are going to get a pizza & watch a movie.

sickmumma · 20/10/2018 16:45

Had a lazy morning, DH took the DC to goals for a kick around with a couple of friends from football and I did a bit of housework. DS2 has gone out with grandad for his birthday treat (rock climbing and dinner), we took the other two to the local pet store and DH got a fish and back home just playing a board game with DD and about to walk to the shop to get some dinner! Probably pizzas 😬

BobbinThreadbare123 · 20/10/2018 16:51

I've had a day stuck indoors, which I don't normally do but we had workmen in for most of the day. Stripped beds, done some washing, cleaned the bathrooms, popped to B&Q for some paint and now to Sainsbury's to find something nice for tea. It's been a crap rainy day here so hopefully it'll have stopped by dog walk time!

KevinTheYuccaPlant · 20/10/2018 16:54

Walked dogs, treated senior horse's feet, picked out the other two, helped DH repair the sheep dosing pen, sent him off to do the shopping while I (with help from my collie) penned the sheep, dosed them all for liver fluke and worms, separated them into two lots, took the older ones off to a field out on the point and then put this year's lambs onto the village common grazings with everybody else's. Then came home, ate far too much chocolate and spent the afternoon on the sofa trading football odds. About to peel myself up and go and take the dogs for their second walk of the day and see how my bloke with a digger is getting on clearing the field ditches.

Hermagsjesty · 20/10/2018 16:55

Kids’ swimming lessons this morning, then a bit of a run around in the park, then took the kids for haircuts then we spent the afternoon playing at home. The kids are having fish fingers for tea so we can have an Indian takeaway and a film after bedtime. Lovely Saturday!

Aebj · 20/10/2018 16:58

Food shop this morning
This afternoon ds1 went to his friends. Ds2 went plane spotting. I worked . Dh is in the forces and away
This evening we are watching telethon. Westan Australia version of children in need . It’s fab. Go telethon
