We were up early today, we've had a chilled out morning and early afternoon watching Netflix and snacking on.. well basically anything in the cupboards and fridges lol. Now we're doing a bit of home D.I.Y and going to blitz the downstairs. Then later on we're going to make some nice food (or a takeaway) and have a snuggle down with a movie. I love Saturdays so much when we actually do something now. Instead of just lazing about not doing anything, even my mental health is seeing an improvement.

What are you all up to? Have a lovely day x

Went for a walk in the park and to the supermarket. Going to binge watch season 4 of Game of Thrones this afternoon, and have a few glasses of wine

Veronicat · 20/10/2018 14:48

Just finished work and have dragged into town to get my caterpillars eyebrows waxed. Then I need to find an outfit for a posh christening at my bosses house.

ShesABelter · 20/10/2018 14:49

Got the kids at an indoor inflatable park then going home to tidy a bit before they go to their grans for the night and we go out for dinner and drinks with friends for my birthday.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 20/10/2018 14:51

Went trampolining with 3 year old, now I’m hosp with the baby! :( nothing too serious thankfully but maybe in overnight which is no fun.

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 20/10/2018 14:51

Took DD to her first drop and go birthday party this morning, and had a surprisingly enjoyable supermarket shop with DH
DD is collapsed in front of cbeebies now, DH is playing something on the iPad, so I'm going for a sneaky bubble bath Grin

Bluntness100 · 20/10/2018 14:51

Just back from having coffee with a friend, then heading out late afternoon to see a star is born at the movies with my husband and then we will find someplace to have dinner before coming home. Currently laying on sofa mumsnetting,,

QuickWash · 20/10/2018 14:54

Absolutely lovely coffee and cake catch up followed by dog walk with extended family, the home for late lunch and housework/DIY.

We're off to swimming lessons in a mo, then picking house bits up from IKEA before home for Strictly and sofa.

So happy it's half term!

Thisgirlcant · 20/10/2018 14:55

Up at 6.15 out the door for 7.30 for a ten mile run, then cleaned for 1 1/2 hours, washed, made a chocolate cake. Currently laid on the settee where I'll probably have a nap soon. Later I'll have a few drinks while watching the X factor.

Cheesymonster · 20/10/2018 14:55

Took DD to her dance class this morning, a treat for me too as I get an hour's peace with a coffee. Then we picked up the keys to our new rental house and had a good look round before we move next week. Now back indoors and DD is watching Coco while I do laundry. Will make spaghetti bolognese later and then watch Strictly. Also want to finish Haunting of Hill House later.

oopslateagain · 20/10/2018 14:56

I'm impressed with everyone doing cleaning! I'm having a lazy day so far, DH is out tinkering with his motorbike and DD is at work, so I've been doing laundry and playing games in-between loads. I'm still in my nightie!

They're both due home in the next half an hour, then I'll be making our Sunday roast a day early as DD is at work tomorrow. And we've got the F1 qualifying later.

I'm off for a shower now before they get home and discover how lazy I've been Grin

xJessica · 20/10/2018 14:58

Ballet at 9 for DD, and DH and I did the Sainsbury's shop. Then visited my parents, back home, made soup for lunch and now we are going out for a walk.

MysweetAudrina · 20/10/2018 14:58

Got up and went to a yoga class while dh brought the younger 2 to play a football and then a hurling match. Went to posh shop on my way home and picked up some nice bread and meats for lunch.

Cleaned floors, uniforms, beds, kitchen. Made lunch and now thinking of bringing ds to get his itouch fixed.

Poor dh got caught to do the neighbourhood clean up and dd is playing fortnite cause she got trampled on at hurling and couldn't go to her afternoon activity.

peakydante · 20/10/2018 14:59

Oh reading these treads I always wish I'd appreciated my life before I had children 😭 my Saturday's are a horrendous bore of tantrums, shitty nappies, feeding and maybe a trip to the park if I get a chance between all the tantrums, nappies, feeding.....

Hoping life will improve in a few years and Saturdays will be fun again Confused

TheFaerieQueene · 20/10/2018 15:00

I’ve got 9 for supper tonight so I’m cooking - well I’ve finished now. I’m just relaxing for a bit before I lay the table and decide what to wear/shower etc etc.
It is so sunny here that I’m getting v warm. Doors are open and the birds are singing. Is it really October??

cleanasawhistle · 20/10/2018 15:00

I have been pottering about and making lunch.

My ds came back at 2ish and I've been playing Xbox with him while dh tinkers with his bike in the garden. I'm making a braised beef stu in a bit for tea and will probably watch making a murderer on Netflix later.

Cleaned the kitchen and moved some cupboard stuff around , took DS to a party , painting the windowsill and door now then sanding and waxing kitchen cupboard doors before a take away and cosy up in front of the tv tonight!! Love Saturdays!

M00nUnit · 20/10/2018 15:18

I volunteered at my local parkrun this morning (barcode scanning this time) then went for coffee with some of the other volunteers/runners, then went home and had a bit of a clear-cut of the loft. Now I'm in the car with DH on our way to see his lovely sons.

Eliza9917 · 20/10/2018 15:26

Got up about an hour ago after a big lie in with tea & bacon sandwiches & Mumsnet/facebook in bed. Painted my nails. DP has been watching crap on youtube. Just put the telly on and about to watch the latest American horror story while eating pizza. Will probably do sod all for the rest of the day, TV/reading/phone. Might go to the supermarket later for supplies.

weegiemum · 20/10/2018 15:35

Have driven/ferried the length of Scotland (outer Hebrides to Glasgow) having got up at 5.15 am. Now for some wine and wotsits!

Miggeldy · 20/10/2018 15:37

On my way home from China.

Pooleschoolschoice · 20/10/2018 15:39

Marked to read later. I tend to fill all the time with being busy or going out and try to fit too much in. And the crash as i dont have the energy (fatigue issues).

Want to remind myself that a "lazy day" at home like the op is normal and healthy and not wrong!!!

However bith kids need to run around at some point in the day or they'll go stir crazy. Theyve had a morning at home and been so creative! I need to do that more.
