To think that the following opinion may get me banned

I think MNHQ are too trigger happy with their censoring of posts and/or threads. I have seen many a thread or post deleted when it could have provided a good basis for a good debate.

All that this seems to achieve is lots of threads which are difficult to follow and even express your full opinion on.

AIBU???

OP posts:

Why would that get you banned?

Disquieted1 · 20/10/2018 00:53

I would ban you for the anticlimax alone.

pinkdelight · 20/10/2018 00:54

It's a bit vague. Can't see this getting you banned, sorry.

i was waiting for a juicey post then lol

I have posted on troll threads before saying the same thing. Sometimes the odd ill intentioned thread can actually spawn some very interesting debate and it seems a shame to lose insightful and throught provoking posts because the poster is a PBP or a troll. Perhaps MN could take ownership (and NC) the thread so the OP doesnt get the attention they seek, while allowing the discussion to continue.

Sparklesocks · 20/10/2018 01:31

I think it really depends on the thread and the context. Some things are racist/sexist/homophobic and add nothing to the debate, and some are just mean spirited and nasty and not in the spirit of MN. What sort of posts have you seen which you don’t think are delete-worthy?

Walkingdeadfangirl · 20/10/2018 02:22

YANBU. Mumsnet is not a bastion of free speech, if you do not have a politically correct opinion you are likely to get banned. Its all about the money!
