to help me identify this pill?

Just found a pill. Very clearly medicine/ drug.

It is small, about the size of hole in a key, round, pale blue. Has 5 on one side and either OC or 0C on the other side.

Google suggests oxycontin but they have OP on one side, this is definitely O or 0 C.

Anyone any ideas?

Diazepam/valium?

Don’t forget that the same drug can come in different shapes/colours depending on the manufacturer.

Djnoun · 19/10/2018 15:25

Flush it before you wind up feeling like you've spent a fortnight in a bad balloon.

masma · 19/10/2018 15:28

100% diazepam

Jammiebammie · 19/10/2018 15:28

OxyContin tablets have Oc on them and a number in the other side (10,20,40 etc) I’m not sure if they do a 5 or if it’s blue though. Can you post a pic?

Jammiebammie · 19/10/2018 15:29

Diazepam blue is 10mg, 5 is yellow unless they’re not ‘legit’

No Problem. I forgot to add do not take any pill that you are unsure of and that you haven't popped from a pill strip or taken out of a bottle yourself

Jammiebammie · 19/10/2018 15:39

Yup definitely Oxy, probably slow release. Where did you find it op?

overagain · 19/10/2018 15:40

Oh Baccus - love the warning there.

Found at work (mixed community team of health professionals and allied health professionals) legitimate reasons for it to be hanging around but we like to know what we are throwing away!

You have controlled drugs just 'hanging around'?

Hmm

You can't just throw it away. You need to take it to a pharmacy to be destroyed.

ILoveBray · 04/03/2019 12:38

timpain18

Reported, why are you encouraging people to buy prescription drugs on the Internet??

MrsSpooks · 04/03/2019 12:49

yep, Oxycontin 5mg - I work for the manufacturer

BejamNostalgia · 04/03/2019 12:51

Isn’t that reportable? If controlled drugs are knocking around a healthcare setting that should ring alarm bells. Are there patients there that could have dropped it? I’d most certainly be doing an audit of the drugs trolley to make sure nothing was short.

Please move along.

100% oxycontin. I checked it against my own packet and the markings match perfectly.
