Hi all.

Just after some advice and not sure where else to ask. I'm just finishing Mat leave and going back 3 days a week. I'm a teacher in a FE college but can and have also taught secondary. I don't want to go back to this job, or even perhaps teaching as a whole. I love my classroom, my students and the actual teaching but can't stand the admin, the time and the effect on my life. I teach until 5 and don't have school holidays working in FE. I have to work so being a SAHM isn't an option and need to earn in the region of £16k pa (so not a massive amount).

Have any of you left teaching? And what have you done instead? I just feel a bit stuck and I am aware that once I go back 3 days I might feel different rather than as I did full time.

Could you be a locum(or whatever they call it)? My SIL was a primary school teacher, and I believe locums don't do paperwork or admin.
