To do the 30 day shred when I’m completely unfit?

I’m not overweight but would like to tone up and get fitter. Problem is, I am REALLY unfit, I have ME and coming out of a long spell of feeling completely exhausted all the time, so haven’t done any exercise since...I can’t even remember actually.

I did the shred a few years ago, I used to run then too, and I seem to remember it was pretty brutal and for the first few days I felt like I’d been run over multiple times, everything hurt so much.

But am going on a holiday in a month’s time and would like to change my shape before then, so eying the shred DVD.

Am I mad? Will I end up in an ambulance?

Do it. Do it!

No you'll be fine. I remember level 1 being ok. I've progressed to Ripped in 30 - now that is a killer! And remember there are modified versions of the exercises too

I’m considering prancing about in the comfort of my own home.

Quick look on prime video and there’s loads.

Research on.

I would be very careful if you have ME, you don't want to relapse just in time for your holiday. I think you will need to build it up more slowly.

JM shows modifications for most of the exercises so even those who think they are unfit can do them. I would however do more of a cool down than she does at the end. Have a look on online for stretching exercises, it's the one area that I think she doesn't cover that well.

Cadsuane - you’re probably right but the vain me is thinking about wearing a bikini in a month. Maybe I’ll start with just doing the first section for a few days, which will be just a few minutes and see how that goes. I have found what I believe to be the winning combination of vitamins and supplements to keep me feeling healthy so I’m optimistic! My energy levels have improved loads since I started taking them and I haven’t been ill yet this year (touch wood), when every year for the last 5 I’ve gone down with a flu like thing in September.
