To do the 30 day shred when I’m completely unfit?

I’m not overweight but would like to tone up and get fitter. Problem is, I am REALLY unfit, I have ME and coming out of a long spell of feeling completely exhausted all the time, so haven’t done any exercise since...I can’t even remember actually.

I did the shred a few years ago, I used to run then too, and I seem to remember it was pretty brutal and for the first few days I felt like I’d been run over multiple times, everything hurt so much.

But am going on a holiday in a month’s time and would like to change my shape before then, so eying the shred DVD.

Am I mad? Will I end up in an ambulance?

No you'll be fine. I remember level 1 being ok. I've progressed to Ripped in 30 - now that is a killer! And remember there are modified versions of the exercises too

I would be very careful if you have ME, you don't want to relapse just in time for your holiday. I think you will need to build it up more slowly.

JM shows modifications for most of the exercises so even those who think they are unfit can do them. I would however do more of a cool down than she does at the end. Have a look on online for stretching exercises, it's the one area that I think she doesn't cover that well.

Cadsuane - you’re probably right but the vain me is thinking about wearing a bikini in a month. Maybe I’ll start with just doing the first section for a few days, which will be just a few minutes and see how that goes. I have found what I believe to be the winning combination of vitamins and supplements to keep me feeling healthy so I’m optimistic! My energy levels have improved loads since I started taking them and I haven’t been ill yet this year (touch wood), when every year for the last 5 I’ve gone down with a flu like thing in September.
