Aibu to wonder why this site doesn't have features that most others seem to have now?

I.e. a quote & edit button, a button to only show posts from the op, a button that brings up all your own posts only etc.

Are there plans to add 'modern' features and if not, why not?

Apologies if this should go in the site stuff section but aibu to think using the site can be a bit of a pita where you can't quote people and have to c&p and then put it in bold?

I think being able to click something to just see the posts from the OP would be really useful. So many people write replies that clearly haven’t read an update from the OP, probably because if there are loads of pages it’s easy to miss an update.

The only one i reel we haven't got a solusion to is seeing just Op's posts and reply that would certianly be an asset in threads where your looking for the ops latest uodate or added info from the op

Sparklingbrook · 17/10/2018 07:59

As long as you have your own posts and the OPs posts set up to be different colours it's easy to scroll down and just read theirs if that's what you want.

I dont like the idea of the edit post function, so many people could just use that to be all 'your mis-quoting me' 'I never said that' etc.

To be able to see all your posts/op posts would be great though!

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 17/10/2018 08:55

I do sparkling i still miss Ops posts

That's a pita when there's pages and pages of posts though.

Agreed, for such a popular site it's quite surprising how behind it is on these features. I would love all of the above and the ability to reply to messages in a better way. Threads having multiple conversations where people sometimes don't include the message they are replying to get really confusing. Would be better if they nested like Facebook.

I have been on MN a while and not had any of these problems. I think part of its appeal is that it is different to other sites TBH.
I do tend to RTFT though.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 20/10/2018 10:07

Just because you havent had the problem sparkling doesnt nean no one else does

Sparklingbrook · 20/10/2018 10:15

I know that NaughtToThreeSadOnions, but I expect some people have a problem and some don't. Like all things really.
