To see the funny side of the tribulations of toddlerhood?

Tonight my 21 month old DS started crying because we put him carefully into his crib after he'd fallen asleep in my arms (or so we thought - turns out he was still a teensy bit awake). He sobbed so hard while shouting various instructions at us ("DOW" for get me down, etc.), that I made the massive mistake of trying to comfort him.

Still upset with me for committing this iniquitous crime, he pushed me away and apparently decided to self-comfort instead a-la Sound of Music by remembering of one of his favorite things. In between whole body-wracking sobs, he dramatically fell to his knees and screamed "COOOOOOOOKKKKIIIEEEEEE" loud and clear at the top of his lungs as if he was being murdered, and seemed afterwards to feel a bit better.

AIBU to have nearly wet myself laughing at this? I hate seeing him upset, but this was just so funny I couldn't help giggling, although I did manage to stifle it so as not to upset him further. As he'd already done his teeth he didn't get said cookie, but he did have snuggles until he dozed off.

May I ask for your cute/funny toddler stories?

DH had an accident in the car and damaged it. After a few weeks at the repair shop, a nice man delivered the car back to us. We all went outside to admire the new panelwork. DD who was about 3, had a look and said very sternly to DH " I hope you don't break it again Daddy !"

Stellabird Grin gotta love the honesty! When my Dsis was a toddler, a nice lady at church stopped and was cooing at her and saying how BIG she'd gotten, etc. Dsis looked her straight in the eye and said "So have you!" Teen me (I was holding Dsis's hand at the time, as I was looking after her) nearly died of embarrassment.

DD was 3 a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes when she’s falling asleep, she babbles a stream of random consciousness, all about her day and her little world.

She was doing this last night as I was walking past her door. I put my foot down and a floorboard creaked. DD went silent for a moment, and then her little voice said suspiciously:

“What’s that noise? Sounds like a FART!”

Honestly, it really was a floorboard Blush. DH heard the whole thing over the baby monitor and simply won’t believe me.
