Is this a bit weird?

Just booked into a hotel room at Heathrow. The bathroom wall facing into the room is a glass panel which means you can watch your partner/travelling companion having a shower or using the toilet. I suppose if you are sharing a double bed you have few secrets, but even so!

Ooh been in a hotel like that, wasn’t Heathrow though. I made DH go out when I used the loo! Two days in and we realised there was an automatic blind to shut off the bathroom.

Look for a switch!

showmethemonkey · 16/10/2018 22:44

And are you flying tomorrow? Where to?!

SerenDippitty · 16/10/2018 22:46

No I thought there might be a switch but there isn’t one. Flying to Greece tomorrow.

Have fun!

martinidry · 16/10/2018 22:53

That sounds horrible. I would be leaving to find a more civilised hotel.

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 16/10/2018 22:54

On honeymoon we had a bathroom like this! Not the most romantic 🙈

Jakethekid · 16/10/2018 22:54

I have seen something like this before. Is it an easyhotel?

ShirleyPhallus · 16/10/2018 22:57

I’ve stayed in a pod hotel where there wasn’t even one wall of the bathroom

Excruciating in a new relationship on a kinky weekend away needing to fart

Hillarious · 16/10/2018 22:59

Ha, ha. We had a room like this is a very posh very-old-newly-renovated hotel in Northern Italy. I made DH go out onto the balcony when I needed a "private moment".

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 16/10/2018 22:59

I had similar when sharing a room with a pregnant woman I didn't know on a hen party, it was frosted glass but still! I had to share a double bed with a stranger, as did she, plus I was trying to not drink too much as didn't want to be drunk and obnoxious around the pregnant lady!

Aquamarine1029 · 16/10/2018 23:01

My god, that's horrible! My husband and I hide nothing from each other but we still want to have some modicum of privacy whilst in the bathroom!

slashlover · 16/10/2018 23:10

Have one of you actually gone in and locked the door? I'm sure I've seen one which automatically frosts when the door is locked.

Go down to reception to ask if they have different rooms and what they think they're playing at.

Yonijust · 16/10/2018 23:11

Ring and ask reception

DishranawaywiththeSpoon · 16/10/2018 23:13

I stayed somewhere like this before! It had frosted glass at kind of genital to boob height but this meant you could see over or under (if you were sitting down) when someone was on the toilet! It was at such an angle as well that you could see straight in from both the sofa and the bed! Why? I really do not want my DP to watch me have a shit.

The voice of reason! Ring reception and ask if it supposed to be like that!

Please report back Grin

ThisIsTheNational · 16/10/2018 23:16

We had an AirBnB that was similar. Glass box off the master bedroom with a balcony over the kitchen. You could actually see the loo from the street. No curtain, no magic switch. 😱

Petitepamplemousse · 16/10/2018 23:19

I've had this before, it was disgusting. I'm pretty prudish so even with a long term DP I'd find it perturbing but I was with my boyfriend at the time, of only a few months!! I could see him pooing! I didn't like going for a wee even until he was in bed facing the other way. Horrible!

Spiderdemon · 16/10/2018 23:21

please ring reception and report back to us immediately!

slashlover · 16/10/2018 23:21

If it's the Novotel then google says there should be a button near the shower, possibly by the entrance.

LinoleumBlownapart · 16/10/2018 23:24

That is really weird. I have seen my husband having a poo, it is actually a vision I would like to forget. We're pretty open, not very prudish, but that image is just a step too far.

Isleepinahedgefund · 16/10/2018 23:26

It would be weird if it wasn't at Heathrow.

TigerJae · 16/10/2018 23:28

Recently stayed in similar in a hotel in Spain, unexpectedly. Had I known I wouldn’t have booked. There was also a gap in the door. I was with my friend. We did the balcony thing.
Why the fuck do hotels think anyone wants this??
