I've doubled booked myself - help?

As above.
Different sets of friends - one is at an organised Christmas dinner evening with a bunch of people I don't know that well
The other at a close friends house with other couples we know well and will be infinitely more fun
Don't want to upset either!

Which did you say yes to first?

LostInShoebiz · 16/10/2018 17:42

Very straightforward: which did you agree to first in time.

babycham75 · 16/10/2018 17:43

Can't remember!

To me it would be me simply saying to option 1, really sorry I've doubled booked and can't make it - and pay any deposit you have to if it would leave others out of pocket.

Then do the Christmas gathering you'd prefer.

What does your partner think and can you blame it on him? . (lighthearted).

Can you divide an conquer if one set closer to do than you (hopefully you get the fun lot).

Cherries101 · 16/10/2018 17:47

The christmas dinner should be easier to say no to

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 16/10/2018 17:48

We’re the invites by text?

If so see which one you answered to first.

And then go to the one you prefer.

RandomMess · 16/10/2018 18:10

It's far enough in advance to apologise profusely for your lack of memory/organisation and cancel either.

ClashCityRocker · 16/10/2018 18:31

If I genuinely couldn't remember which one I agreed to first (or didn't want to say as I knew full well that on mn the first accepted invite is sacrosanct 😉)

I think I would balance it up between
A) which one I would enjoy more
B) which one my absence would be more noticeable or have bigger impact.

ClashCityRocker · 16/10/2018 18:31

But yeah, it's far enough in advance not to stress about letting people down etc.

Gonto your friends house sounds like more fun
