Irritating Mumsnet habits (lighthearted)

What winds you up on Mumsnet? Lately on threads I've read there seems to have been a spate (even more than usual) of cancel the cheque type people not reading the full (or is that fucking?) thread and replying to the OP about 20 pages later when the scenario has moved on by miles. Sometimes they even argue about it and derail the thread by insisting on answering the OP instead of where the thread has gone later!
People being sarcastic and unoriginal by saying things like "what did your DH say when you asked him" when the poster obviously hasn't asked him because that's the whole fucking point of the thread.
People asking AIBU and then getting defensive and rude and arguing with every suggestion or piece of advice and then starting more threads about the same fucking thing.
Not that any of this will crush my Mumsnet spirit of course, and I probably do things that annoy other posters. What are your Mumsnet bugbears?

Maybe I should have included "people posting threads in AIBU with no AIBU" like I've just done. Whoops.
AIBU to wonder what Mumsnet habits wind you up?

Goady thread OP, let's not pretend it's 'lighthearted', eh? Hmm

Deltaquinn · 14/10/2018 10:34

I don't know. You seem quite irritating though.

InspectorIkmen · 14/10/2018 10:36

.

Place marking.

These things annoy me. These and GF threads Grin

DastardlyDoris · 14/10/2018 10:55

@Deltaquinn haha fair comment Grin

Poorly concealed placemarking on threads with a lot of dramatic real-time updates.

“Any news, OP? Flowers

TheClaws · 14/10/2018 11:02

These threads. They happen EVERY WEEK.

continuallychargingmyphone · 14/10/2018 11:05

Money.

The assumption everyone has it.

They don’t.

ScreamingValenta · 14/10/2018 11:10

I wouldn't call it irritating, but I don't understand why people use the formula 'didn't want to read and run' before posting a brief, supportive comment in a situation where they're short of time or don't have specific advice. The OP would never know if you had 'read and run' so why not just post your supportive comment without the prefix?

As I say, I am puzzled by this rather than irritated.

DastardlyDoris · 14/10/2018 11:14

@53rdWay Yeah especially on tbreads where someone's life is disintegrating around their ears.

@TheClaws Whoops, do they? Ok sorry!

Thought of another. "I've asked my DH and he says" as if that settles the argument because the man must know best.

The annoying PA comments that people think are very witty.

"Did you mean to be so rude?"
"Are you always this dramatic/sensitive/entitled?
"Do you have form for being this sensitive?"

Idontbelieveinthemoon · 14/10/2018 11:20

I don't like the ones asking about money because you know full well most of the replies are utter nonsense and oneupmanshit.

Clevs · 14/10/2018 11:31

The abbreviations. I read a post the other day with so many abbreviations in I had to decipher them all to get the jist of the story. I gave up in the end. I just want to read a thread with words in it, not abbreviations like DH, DMIL, STBXH, PIL etc.

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 14/10/2018 11:34

Impatience

"Why are you still with him Op? People have told you again and again and you aren't listening to our advice"

Entire thread is only 3 hours old.

Failingat40 · 14/10/2018 11:36

People failing to read and comprehend the original post, asking questions which were covered from the outset.

People trolling and reporting everything, reminds me of the pathetic know it alls at primary school, desperate for the teachers attention.

People being offended by everything and twisting things to suit their own agenda.

People who fail to understand the situation an OP is posting about so suggest he/she must have mental health problems Hmm

Oh and everything on relationships no matter how minor results very swiftly in LTB Shock
