Okay, so I was on the implant for a while (well over a year ago I took it out) and it messed my periods up but they’ve been pretty regular for maybe 7/8 months. The longest my cycle has been over this time has been 31 days. I know my period is coming because 7 days before AF arrives, my boobs are unbearably sore!

However, this didn’t happen this time around and still hasn’t happened. I’m on day 43 of my cycle, no sign of AF at all.

I spotted on day 27, but nothing since. Noticeable rise in clear discharge, extreme fatigue, really bad heartburn, slightly cramping every now and again, ‘fullness’ in abdomen, if that makes sense? Super bloated and quite bad headaches. I’ve also found myself heading to the toilet more often than normal (mostly no.2 Blush but waking up at night more for no.1).

I took a test just after my period was due and also one a few. days later (day 39). Both tests showed as negative.

Obviously none of you could tell me if I was pregnant, but if you could bring in any personal experiences or shed any light on any of my symptoms that would be great!

I’ll be leaving it a week before I take another, I think.

I tested negative a good week after I thought my period was due, similar symptoms to yours. Didn't test again until I was ten weeks. I'm now seven and a half months pregnant. My ovulation clearly isn't regular

I had two negative tests (cheap £4 ones) and thought as I wasn't pregnant I was clearly dying as I felt so awful. I did a clear blue digital a week later and boom 💥 +ve. That was a shock I won't forget!

garethsouthgatesmrs · 13/10/2018 23:52

i also took negative tests when i was pregnant.

Havalina · 13/10/2018 23:55

I was usually regular but ttc my third child, had a cycle I was sure, loads of symptoms, tested, nada. Two weeks later I got a bfp, no period inbetween. For some reason had a very long cycle, ovulation symptoms when I thought af was due.

Not happened before or since afaik.

Not to worry you, but I believe this can happen with ectopic pregnancies as hcg doesn’t rise in the same way. There are tests you can buy that are a lot more sensitive to hcg levels (think its the Superdrug ones that have the lowest level). If you’re still getting negative results I’d go to the doctor to be safe.

I also get sore boobs before my periods but when I was pregnant it was something else - they were excruciating and looked like I’d had a boob job. I was having twins so had extra hormones floating round. I didn’t have any other symptoms at that point though.

Thanks for all of your replies. I’m still so confused, I just hope it all becomes clear over the next few days/weeks. If I get my period I’ll be a bit gutted though, even though I’m not actively TTC.

I’ll get booked in at the doctor’s at the end of the month if AF hasn’t arrived/I’ve got a BFP.

It's extremely rare that a positive test is wrong, but a negative test can be. I would go and see a doctor asap.

MrsChollySawcutt · 14/10/2018 13:36

What brand of test are you using. There has been a product recall of Clear and Simple branded tests very recently;

I did a clear blue one just after my period was late and that was negative and then I’ve done cheap boots ones since & they were negative too - maybe I’ll have to fork out a bit more?
