Chamberpot (lighthearted)

I'm 8 months pregnant and get up anywhere between 3 - 7 times a night for a wee.

Asked DH if we can get a chamberpot to save me shlepping through the house multiple times a night and he's said flat out no!

So wise jury of MNers..... Who is being U?! Me to want to pee from the comfort of my bedside, or him for vetoing the idea!? 😁

How big is your house that bed to toilet is a schlep? If I had a chamber pot I'd get up and accidentally kick it over...
I do feel your pain in seven and a half months, I thought 1-3 times was a lot! Have you been tested for UTI and glucose tolerance recently? Seven times a night is crazy

At that stage of pregnancy it is easier to just doze sitting on the loo.

thisneverendingsummer · 13/10/2018 20:34

YABU sorry. As a pp said, how far is the loo? At the bottom of your garden???

RayRayBidet · 13/10/2018 20:34

If you peed in a chamber pot you would never get back up!

How far away is your bathroom?! I can’t imagine squatting beside your bed to piss in a bowl at 8 months pregnant is more comfortable than a few metres to walk to a bathroom.

I seriously considered a toilet chair thing the elderly have when I was pregnant with my ds.

The toilet is downstairs, I had SPD and sciatica, and by the time I got back upstairs and comfortable, I needed the toilet again.

I managed to hold out though even though dh was all for it

I couldn’t have hovered over a chamber pot at 8 months pregnant. It was only about 15 steps (30 shuffles) to the loo, but it still took me several minutes as each step was painful, let alone the 3 stairs because it was on a landing. I used to crawl in the end.

I think for a downstairs loo I’d have invested in a kampa khazi.

I may have bought a packet of Tena Pants when I was about 8 months pregnant. I thought I’d found the perfect solution as I was only weeing a few drops at a time and I was going every 30 minutes. I couldn’t quite bring myself to lie there and wet myself in the end though.

You need a commode.

Make an elaborate contraption with a Sheewee and some tubing
