Maternity Leave Pay

Wussypants · 12/10/2018 22:41

Thinking of ttc next year, looking over finances and the terms and conditions of my employer's maternity pay - which is confusing!!

One of my friends says her company pays full pay for an entire year, which I'm a bit Shock and Envy at.

AIBU to ask what your maternity pay is like?

Statutory, so rubbish 🙄

MrTrebus · 12/10/2018 22:43

22 weeks full pay then statutory in my job

WidowTwonky · 12/10/2018 22:43

6months full pay, 3 months SMP, 3 months nowt

Faster · 12/10/2018 22:44

I hadn’t worked there long enough so I didn’t qualify to qualify for maternity allowance of about £140 a week.

Gillian1980 · 12/10/2018 22:44

Statutory where I work.

WhatelsecouldIbecalled · 12/10/2018 22:45

4 weeks full pay
6 weeks 90%
12 weeks 60% +SMP
12 weeks SMP

Personally I think it’s crap for a well paid job and regarded as highly
Professional!

garethsouthgatesmrs · 12/10/2018 22:46

complicated but something like 2 weeks at 100% then 6 weeks at 90% then 50% until 6 months then statutory until 9 months then nothing

pottypotamus · 12/10/2018 22:46

6 months full pay, then 3 months SMP, 3 months unpaid.
6 months full pay almost over 😢

xxx14xxx · 12/10/2018 22:47

£145 a week 😣 Due in 2 weeks time... having 12 weeks off and going back to work. We can’t afford it.

NoNoCharlieRascal · 12/10/2018 22:48

Statutory, complete pants.

NickMarlow · 12/10/2018 22:49

13 weeks full pay, 13 weeks half pay, 13 weeks SMP, 13 weeks unpaid

RedBlu · 12/10/2018 22:49

Six months full pay, three months SMP, three months of nothing.

CherLooksYoungerThanMe · 12/10/2018 22:50

Six months full, three months SMP, three months nothing.

SpadesOfGlory · 12/10/2018 22:50

3 months full basic pay (minus SMP) + car allowance
6 months smp+car allowance and
3 months car allowance only.

Not good enough in my opinion for a highly paid professional job to begin with, but much better than the 6 weeks 90% it was last year I suppose.

MrsStrowman · 12/10/2018 22:52

Twelve weeks 90%
Twelve weeks 50% plus SMP
Twelve weeks SMP
I'm lucky in that I get very generous annual leave and am rolling over most of this year's allowance (I've only taken ten days this year as I've accrued and then taken a lot of TOIL) , plus what I'll accrue while I'm off will give me another 56 days on full pay I can take before I actually physically go back, plus the ten full paid KIT days, should make the SMP only bit slightly more bearable.

Notacluewhatthisis · 12/10/2018 22:52

Would be very surprised if it was a full year paid. Your don't even get smp for a full year.

Patienceofatoddler · 12/10/2018 22:53

6 months full pay
3 months statutory
3 months unpaid

But with accumulated Bank Holidays days and AL (30 days a year) as well as AL from the current year left over I can add another 2-2.5 months on at full pay.

Conditions vary from employer to employer and usually have restrictions ie need to have worked a certain amount of weeks / months to get any additional maternity on top of statutory maternity.

kitkatsky · 12/10/2018 22:53

6 weeks at 90% then statutory

cl61reb · 12/10/2018 22:54

6months full pay, 3 months SMP, 3 months unpaid. Flexible working on return and the use of arrived holidays to reduce the working week (while still be paid full time) is actively encouraged to enable a phased return

AliceRR · 12/10/2018 22:55

13 weeks full pay, 13 weeks half pay, 13 weeks SMP, 13 weeks unpaid

SueDunome · 12/10/2018 22:56

The first 6 weeks at 90% is statutory.

AuntBeastie · 12/10/2018 22:56

12 weeks full pay, 12 weeks half pay, 13 weeks SMP then the rest of the year unpaid

Coldilox · 12/10/2018 22:57

18 weeks full pay then SMP

SassitudeandSparkle · 12/10/2018 22:59

I've never heard of anywhere paying for a full year (former HR). That is extremely generous IME.

SardineJam · 12/10/2018 23:03

12 months full pay at my current company. Unfortunately I'm passed TTC and had two maternity leaves at my previous company at 90% for 6 weeks and the statutory until 9 months and then nothing for the remainder of the year
