To be excited that ive made pot brownies!

Me and my DH have made some pot brownies for tonight I have never smoked pot before or even been stoned. Were off to amsterdam next year and I would like a space cake over there so we thought we would try at home first before in an unfamiliar setting.

I am a bit excited nervous and again excited! Anyone ever made pot brownies what was it like? AIBU to be excited?

I’m the queen of the whitey. I was determined to be as into weed as all my friends but despite smoking and drinking successfully I cannot get high. Tried and tried. Mainly fainted and threw up. Current DH says he’s never seen someone whitey so dramatically after 2 puffs.
So be cautious but fgs it’s not that bad. The only time i had pot brownies I was also very drunk so couldn’t tell which was which.
Also this was many moons ago and I did realise what a tube I was being. A second glass of wine would be wild these days.

More Chinese food for me later then it gets sick 😀

Have you got snacks in OP? A few weeks back after, ahem, what can only be described as chronic munchies I discovered that the large salt and vinegar snack a jacks, were particularly delicious coated in crunchy peanut butter, with a layer of chocolate Nutella on top.

We're ordering in some food later yum 😋

It’s rare but it does happen, especially to newbies. Forewarned is forearmed and all that.

Also, eating it is totally different. I hated it, felt very out of control and was buckled for ages.

Don't do it. I used to smoke loads of weed when I was in my early 20's and I ate a pot brownie once and ended up sitting in the empty bathtub, full clothed, rocking back and forth for hours. When I finally felt able to get up, I vomited. I've not eaten food with weed in it ever again.

I ate some by accident at a party age 17.
I would recommend lots of non alcoholic drinks, snacks (the cheaper/ unhealthier the better) and a silly film to watch.
I do recall my friend whose house it was had a very soft throw over the sofa which I couldn't stop touching.

If you overdo It, you may get so stoned that you can't eat. Obviously still get loads of snacks in. Pot noodles, chocolate, Ben and Jerry's...

effects vary depending on individual liver enzymes
cannabis has huge medicinal and therapeutic not to mention recreational value, yes some people dont enjoy it

Tried half a one in Amsterdam last year and had no affect on me whatsoever but my DP ate a full one (idiot) and he was a mess for 3 days. Neither of us have ever done drugs before of any kind but thought why not since we were in Amsterdam. Be very careful, my DP was paranoid, numb and spent 2 days walking around feeling a paper napkin because he liked that he could feel the texture!! He made me sleep with the light on so he could see his body as he didn't believe he was really there 😂 My brother, a regular weed smoker at the time, couldn't believe we'd done edibles.

DP still wasn't normal when he got home. I wouldn't say it ruined our time there but it was definitely not how I envisaged the trip which had been a surprise for his 30th!

I've only ever heard the word used in the context of being high - I've just searched it and all I saw was in relation to that. So ignorant, maybe. But I'm not disablist.

Go easy on the Chinese food OP, one of the things being stoned used to do to me was turn of the 'full' feeling. I once ate Chinese until I was sick (it wasn't a whitey, I genuinely just ate about three meals worth of food).
