To be excited that ive made pot brownies!

Me and my DH have made some pot brownies for tonight I have never smoked pot before or even been stoned. Were off to amsterdam next year and I would like a space cake over there so we thought we would try at home first before in an unfamiliar setting.

I am a bit excited nervous and again excited! Anyone ever made pot brownies what was it like? AIBU to be excited?

I made cannabis butter in the slow cooker with coconut oil.

I hate coconut so it was hard to eat and the burps afterwards were bad but the high was nice.

Tbh isn't the biggest gateway drug alcohol? Or caffeine?

I can't get wound up about an adult choosing to have some drugs. We let adults smoke and drink alcohol. So why not the others.

But then I'm one who thinks all drugs should be legal and then just heavily taxed like alcohol and cigarettes.

Bit off topic but I always think when someone does this for the first time as an adult (or say over 25) that they're going to make it really uncool I once had a friend have 2 drags and they acted how they imagined being high would make them act. Nothing cool about weed anyway, just a thought I always have. (my friend was like "wow do you think there's a cat inside the moon watching us?" and I was so embarrassed )

We have a husband with tingling legs ....he's not stoned he says but feeling a little mellow with funny legs.

Ok please be careful. We made some years ago. Regular stoners. We underestimated the strength of the vaped weed. It was fucking awful. Took ages to get going. I was stoned for two days. Oh my god.

I had panic attack after panic attack. Woke up still stoned. Lay in bed until work. Still stoned. The paranoia was strong. I couldn't possibly phone in sick. I was in no fit state to drive so I thought I'd take the bus.
No. I thought everyone would stare at me. I walked 3 miles in darkness as I was so paranoid. I felt like my legs didn't belong to me.

I'm a recreational user. Much prefer a cheeky smoke to wind down. However, you couldn't pay me to touch a brownie. Ate one at a party a few years ago, must have been loaded with pot because I felt awefull. Much better to smoke it in a pipe, than a brownie if you don't want the tobacco. Funnily enough we are going to Amsterdam, already joked to Dp the only way I'll be able to drag him around the museums is if I plonk him in a special cafe for an hour prior.

The only ill-effect I've ever had after ingesting cannabis was sore ribs from laughing myself senseless.

I echo being very cautious with how much you have though. I made some hash cookies many years ago, and took 6 to a party, thinking not many people would want any. Thirty or so people ended up off their tits, and my neighbour's husband took 25 minutes to get home - a walk that normally takes 5 minutes. He had to keep stopping to wonder at the clouds and the moon, the silly arse.

I had it in custard once. That made it REALLY strong. Now I just want the custard

OP I've gotta second the PP who said not to get in the bath afterwards, it'll seriously fuck you up and you'll be monged in the bath unable to lift your head, your breathing will feel OTT as you're constantly moving with the water, all you'll want to do is stay still, you will struggle to get yourself out of the bath, and if you do manage it you will just sprawl the first place you plop - naked at the side of the bath. Yes I've been there... Probably for about 3 hours 😂 seriously just chill on your settee or go lay on the bed. Music is always good to listen to - I can recommend Elton John and Radiohead.
