To be excited that ive made pot brownies!

I am a reg here and have name changed.

Me and my DH have made some pot brownies for tonight I have never smoked pot before or even been stoned. Were off to amsterdam next year and I would like a space cake over there so we thought we would try at home first before in an unfamiliar setting.

I am a bit excited nervous and again excited! Anyone ever made pot brownies what was it like? AIBU to be excited?

Do you have a good recipe? I never know if I should make the regular brownie mix and just crumble the weed in? Confused

Actually I've just googled and Good Housekeeping have a recipe for brownies in a slow cooker.
Not pot flavoured ones though.

I made that mistake.

Ate one, nothing happened so had another. Waited nothing happened. Had another. Waited.

Then ended up so fucking stones I thought my soul was going to fly out the window and was begging someone to call an ambulance before I died.
Thankfully no one called an ambulance.

NEVER again.

No one warned me that it takes ages to kick in. No one warned me that you feel WAY more stoned than you do if you smoke it.

I never touched the stuff after that.

Julia, I don't understand you, sorry.
I read about the combination in an old book of herbs.
The natural home grown weed, nothing added except nutmeg and baccy.
It's a much slower hit that lasted longer for me.
Was some time ago now as I don't grow my own, live in a town now Sad

Pot is legal in the state I live in. I have been wanting to have a rummage around the local shop but fear my mum will be driving by. I have thought about a disguise but you must look like your id, so that wouldn’t work.

Well if it's like my state, there is no "rummaging" really. You show your ID at the door and they take it then you sit in the waiting room until youre called back. Then you stand at a bar thing and look at a menu with a person to answer any questions. It involves interaction with a salesperson which I hate, but on the plus side, no one outside can see you so you should be safe from your mum!

3/4 of a £10 bag isn’t much for a whole batch of brownies. I don’t think you will get much of a buzz if you eat one.

I smoked a bit in my youth, but edibles are something else. Had a brownie in Amsterdam, then went to an underground 18 hole glow in the dark/fluorescent mini/crazy golf, trippiest afternoon of my life, very different to smoking.

In Amsterdam they recommend the type you want for what mood you are in/want to be in.
E.g our wedding anniversary, we didn't want to get smashed, but mellow and the guy recommended the perfect fit.
We were happy, giggly and had a great time.
Other nights we wanted a different hit and was recommended others.

I concur with the previous poster who suggested that Mumsnetting is a bit of a sad thing to do when you're stoned but maybe we could have a stoned thread 😹

I was just chilling to the most wonderful music, but dh has just got back up after going to bed, sort of broke the mood.

Yes, SecretWitch they ask if you want it to relax/ to feel more alert and giggly/ for pain relief etc and how you want to take it.

Me and dp ate half a weed brownie each last night and it didn't kick in for 2 and a half hours!

My ex ate a brownie in Amsterdam years ago and freaked out that night with nightmares.
I smoked it once years ago in college, just out of curiosity really, with a group of friends. One guy literally had one puff, turned green and puked.
I just got very giggly and wouldn't shut up talking, but I'm like that after a few drinks too.

We still dont know if the brownies worked or not if am honest so thats when my DH made some odd thing with a bottle remembered from his youth ...bong or whatever you all said I thought a bong was glass with like a straw thing Confused which this was not. He called it a fountain I think?

anyway we ordered a chinese which was ok not our normal takeaway it was shite but the prawn crackers were pretty out of this world Shock

We had a very funny night we haven't laughed like that in ages it was great! I felt slightly paranoid at one point which was starnge oh and the dog was freaking me out slightly. The muchines didn't have chance to kick in....I was very relaxed and couldn't be arsed doing much fell asleep at 8! best sleep in ages didnt wake up once which is unheard of for me.

and for thoses calling bullshit report and MNHQ can check me out.
