To be shattered with this work situation?

I'm on a secondment at work - one that I really need to be assessed satisfactorily in. My confidence has taken a hit, and I'm failing miserably. I can't make the most basic decisions. Things that I was great at, I now just can't do. What do i do?

What's knocked your confidence? Is it a specific thing or just out of your comfort zone. Id write down things you've succeeded at, and say to yourself I am capable, this is just a blip. Then write the problem & possible solutions: as if you're panicking, writing it will help you feel you are back in control & sorting it. Is there anyone you can contact for a handhold, advice or help? Which bits are you struggling with? Someone here might have appropriate experience & be able to help.

I think my confidence has been knocked due to the pressure I'm putting myself under. I also sort of felt that my seniors had pre conceived ideas that I would struggle - which is kind of a self fulfilling prophecy.

How supportive is your manager? Could you note down areas you're struggling with and brainstorm ideas to help you improve then go to them to ask for ideas or support? Trying to pretend it's all fine isn't going to work as you've got yourself in a tail spin.
