I'd like a thread deleted but they haven't responded. How do I go about this?

OP posts:
Bluntness100 · 11/10/2018 21:39

You report it and they will look at it. Is it your thread?

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/10/2018 21:40

You can’t make them delete it. Was it your thread or someone else’s? You can ask and you have so I’m sure they’ll get back to you.

Goatscheeseonmyknees · 11/10/2018 21:43

It was my post. I'd like it deleted as my DH pointed out that some responses were quite offensive and mean, frankly. I've reported it numerous times but have yet to get a response from MNHW

OP posts:
Goatscheeseonmyknees · 11/10/2018 21:43

That should read MNHQ. Sorry for the typo.

NiceViper · 11/10/2018 21:46

MNHQ delete when things break talk guidelines.

(Not because OP's DH think's we're all bitches)

Tahani · 11/10/2018 21:46

So you want it deleted because you didn't like what people said???
Haha

RollyCow · 11/10/2018 21:47

Dont think it works like that. Just hide it and forget about it 😂

thisneverendingsummer · 11/10/2018 21:47

Which one is it? I will report it if you want.

Plural · 11/10/2018 21:47

Yabu you can't delete threads just because yo7 don't like the responses

Goatscheeseonmyknees · 11/10/2018 21:47

They seem to delete other threads at the drop of a hat. I'm unsure as to why im being ignored.

OP posts:
SillyMoomin · 11/10/2018 21:47

Errrr yeah, you don’t get threads deleted because you don’t get responses you like

(Though it will now probably be deleted along with this one as we’re not being supportive Hmm)

Why don’t you just hide the thread op and name change

shamofamockery · 11/10/2018 21:49

It's 10 to 10, they may look at it in the morning OP were all itching to know what thread it was

AnyFucker · 11/10/2018 21:50

Perhaps HQ object to your husband trying to call the shots on their website ?

Goatscheeseonmyknees · 11/10/2018 21:50

niceviper my DH never said that...

Thread got derailed a lot and people went off topic.
Some posters made an assumption that I am religious (the post mentioned church) and made fun of me for it.

OP posts:
icannotthinkofauser · 11/10/2018 21:50

under a previous username I received a lot of really hurtful nasty namecalling and it was really upsetting, I asked MNHQ to delete and they won't as the thread itself is not breaking guildlines but you can report individual posts

If there's any possibly identifying information or a way someone could spot who you are then report it and say you are worried about being identified and they will delete it. Or hide the thread so you can't read it anymore.

thisneverendingsummer · 11/10/2018 21:52

I looked at your username and you haven't posted anything else.

So what thread was it?

thisneverendingsummer · 11/10/2018 21:52

And under what username?

user1473878824 · 11/10/2018 21:52

@shamofamockery The rhythmless man thread

Goatscheeseonmyknees · 11/10/2018 21:53

My DH wasn't calling any shots. I asked for his advice. sillymoomin I don't think you're being unsupportive. I value your input. Thank you.

OP posts:
NoSquirrels · 11/10/2018 21:54

Just hide the thread, OP. If it’s not actually offensive- just upsetting to you - then hide it and think no more of it.

Things aren’t usually deleted “at the drop of a hat”, it takes a while. Unless it’s been days rather than hours?

NiceViper · 11/10/2018 21:55

Ok, nitpick,away.

I am totally aware that I did not quote younverbatim. And your DH may not have used the precise word 'bitches'

But we get really, really frequent threads in various guises saying how horrid MNetters are, and there are sometimes characterised as 'you're all bitches threads'. So inconflated the language a bit. The meaning is still the same - your DH thinks we're offensive and mean (aka being bitches) and so as a Man has come amongst us, he must be right and the thread must go.

Sheesh

shamofamockery · 11/10/2018 21:57

If it's that thread then that's hilarious - none of it made sense and 99% of people were making very lighthearted jokes.

FullTimeYummy · 11/10/2018 21:57

I didn't think this could be possible, but the fact you've been trying to get it deleted has just made it even funnier Grin

icannotthinkofauser · 11/10/2018 21:58

@NiceViper did you comment on OPs previous thread? You seem to be taking it very personally. All OP said was " my DH pointed out that some responses were quite offensive and mean " not " every mumsnetter is a horrid bitch "

Goatscheeseonmyknees · 11/10/2018 21:58

niceviper definitely no nits to pick here.
I've been asking for the thread to go for a while now.
I also don't think mumsnet is horrid. I like it here.
