To ask if you have flown from Jerez to London?

And yes I know I'm a CF because this isn't an AIBU. I've found flights that change at Madrid. There's 1 HR 45 between landing and the next one taking off. How does that work? We won't be able to get bags and check in etc in that time.

The flight to Madrid says Iberia operated by Air Nostrum. Then it says 1hr 45 changeover time. Then the flight to London says it is Iberia operated by British Airways.

If you are buying one ticket for the 2 flights direct from the airline then there shouldn't be a problem as it is their responsibility to transfer your luggage and you just transit 1hr 45 should be plenty. If it is 2 different airlines (not code share) or if you are buying through an agent then it's your responsibility to collect your luggage, get through immigration and customs, recheck baggage and get back through security and if you miss the second flight it will be at your expense and 1 hr 45 is not long enough

We did it this summer. Outbound from LHR took off 90 mins late, we did catch up some time in the air but Iberia made no effort to rush us through immigration or to even tell us where our gate was so, whilst the Madrid/Jerez flight was still at the gate, they wouldn't let us board. We then had to join a ridiculously long queue at the Iberia helpdesk and, after an hour, got seats on the flight 4hrs later and a voucher for a nasty sandwich.
One of the other families who was affected seemed to do that route regularly and said it was the first time that they had missed the connection.
The return flight was OK even though we had to get the train between terminals but we were lucky as the Jerez/Madrid flight was on time & the Madrid/LHR flight was delayed.
So you'll need to go through immigration but your bags will be checked through to your final destination:

Thanks both. I think I'll chance it if those people said it normally works ok. It's a lot cheaper than the direct flight!

Would it not be quicker and easier to fly from Seville? It's easy, quick and cheap to get the train between Jerez and Seville.

Jereztolondon · 12/10/2018 00:00

Possibly but we're going to several places including Seville then staying in Cadiz for longer so it seems counter intuitive to go back where we've been iyswim, plus we'll have done enough 'road time' by then and just want a simple journey to a nearby airport. We could even get a taxi from Cadiz if need be I reckon.
