What to say to young teens on bikes?

Shamelessly posting for traffic.

I’m a member of a running club who have recently started a C25K programme in the evenings, with a large (50+) number of ladies walk/jogging the streets.

We’ve caught the attention of young teens on bikes, who are making some members uncomfortable. The worst they’ve come up with is “show us yer tits”, but it’s typically lighter cajoling. Still embarrassing or upsetting and very much unwelcome to some members. They follow us for probably half our evening.

What would you (or an elected, confident person... probably not me) say or do to at least get them to be less intimidating?

Thank you in advance!

Film them doing it and report them to the police. Unfortunately any kind of verbal backlash from you will just encourage them to do it more, so try to rise above it.

Could you try a different route, or try merging with another group, preferably one that isn't women-only? They probably see your group as being an "easy target".

I’d laugh at them.

Should take the wind out of their sails.

I think I would be tempted to get a phone out and video and either post on a local FB group so their parents can see what they are up to or show the footage to the local PCSO’s so they can have a word with the teens.

How many of them are there? Could your 50+ group just surround them with a circle of angry women and terrify them? Grin not nice for you all, I hope they leave you alone soon.

Personally I wouldn't feel intimidated or uncomfortable with the antics of some young teen boys on bikes. I'd engage with them in a lighthearted and pleasant way. If you don't rise to it or make it particularly amusing to them they will get board quickly.

I'd be tempted to put a stick through their spokes, or throw some tacks in the road, but that might not end up too well for you Grin.

There's not much point talking or shouting at them as they're immature and it will make them worse. Best thing is to ignore them as much as possible. They're after a reaction and will get bored soon enough.

Do they do this every time you go out? If so you could have a chat with your local police community team and see if there are any women police officers who would be willing to join you for a couple of runs - while wearing their Police hi-vis vests.

I'd probably show them my tits, whilst laughing manically, and then watch them run for it like the little kids they are. But I have a very warped sense of humour.
