Your 5 month old wants his face against yours all the time?
My 4 month old can hold a rattle and laugh and wave her arms and legs but can't manoeuvre herself to touch my face!

Maybe just ignore it and move him away from your face without commenting.

Just a wild guess but might trying to focus to see your features? If that’s it I have no idea whether it would indicate an eye issue or not. Maybe mention it to HV/GP at the next visit?

Have you tried putting his face on your chest? Skin to skin and the smell of mum relaxes babies so it may not be your face he wants but skin to skin time. Try stripping him down to a nappy and lay him on your bare chest. I done this with my DD, it relaxed us both and it was great bonding time. I think skin to skin also helps the production of milk for breastfeeding as well. You can't have a baby stuck to your face at all times, that's silly.

yeah, DS does this sometimes, usually lasts a couple of weeks. He still does it from time to time and he's almost 3.

My two year old still does this when he's upset. I think it's adorable. Though, it's only ever been when he's needed calming down.

Dd did this, exactly the same age. Even when we were skin on skin, she'd still try and burrow closer. I loved it tbh. She only did it for about a month. She's ten now, and still loves cuddles.

My five month old likes to press her cheek to mine when I am holding her. I find it really cute and she loves it. They just want to be near their Mum.
