I don’t feel very appreciated by my teenagers. They appreciate a Kanye West song more than me Hmm

I think I should appreciate my own glorious self and we all should more often, even the little things we got done today?

Today I worked all day then came home did 2 laundry loads and just started putting a bed together by myself. I am determined it will be done by 9pm Grin but probably not if I am on MN

Submitted a paper off to prestigious journal... they will reject it, but I'm pleased I gave it a try. Figured out long list of alternative journals to submit to! I know the problem, article is too clever for mere mortals to understand. :)

A580Hojas · 09/10/2018 20:54

Made mushroom and halloumi burgers for the first time at home - and they were lush.

dudsville · 09/10/2018 20:58

I didn't buy the fake christmas tree even though a mumsnetter posted a thread about them being on sale.

comingintomyown · 09/10/2018 21:00

Worked like crazy in my new job I love

darkriver198868 · 09/10/2018 21:01

I finally put away the washing.

LikeSilver · 09/10/2018 21:01

I’m a TA for a little boy with ASD. He has struggled hugely to settle in school. Today I made him laugh, and he waved bye to me, for the first time. More proud of him, really, but proud of my efforts too.

Also proud that I bought ‘PLOPP’ chocolate for my own children’s after school snack, and that they have inherited my sense of humour (they were both in hysterics Grin).

Jezzifishie · 09/10/2018 21:04

I went to my exercise class and did a pirouette Grin

SisyphusHadItEasy · 09/10/2018 21:05

I managed to load 2 loads of yard waste and haul it to the tip after I took down 2 trees. And, I weeded all my flower gardens.

So much for my day off, and thank you OP, for helping us recognise that we still accomplished something, even if the world doesn't see it.

Dontfeellikeamillenial · 09/10/2018 21:06

I screwed up again at work but didn't tell anyone

PookieDo · 09/10/2018 21:17

You have all accomplished something today

I finally put the bed together Grin

I did not let my ex wind me up, I did not respond to any of his text messages. I sorted out some admin. I made two phone calls that I didn't want to make. Sorted out and decluttered my kids clothes and toys.

PawneeParksDept · 09/10/2018 21:32

I finally renewed my passport

beeefcake · 09/10/2018 21:32

I caught up with the ironing

itsjustmebeingme · 09/10/2018 21:33

I actually did some exercise

(After eating loads of chocolate....but still proud of the exercise!!)

Rarfy · 09/10/2018 21:34

Managed to stick it out at work. 6 months pregnant and shattered because someone at work accidentally scared the life out of me about this pregnancy yesterday so i barely slept last night.

pitterpatterrain · 09/10/2018 21:38

Hung out some washing Smile

Goodwordguide · 09/10/2018 21:38

Kicking myself over not going for a run today so nice to consider what I did manage to do instead! I painted my nails. I bought train tickets for halfterm which has been on my to-do list forever. I texted an old friend happy birthday. I paid the stonemason. I remembered a colleague's birthday and have put a card and small gift in my bag ready for tomorrow. I went to parents evening. And I started work at 7am and finished at 5pm.

PlatypusPie · 09/10/2018 21:47

Changed the filter on the hob extractor fan and degreased the whole area. Where did it all come from ?! - I think elves must be running a secret night time chip shop.

Had a meeting with someone about running an event and we sorted the major details in double quick time. So nice to deal with a fellow non faffer.

Watched Bake Off with DH and didn’t kill him with a spatula despite his running critique of everything ( can do functional meal prep, but has taken up some leisure baking and is suddenly Mary Berry with a beard)

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 09/10/2018 21:49

Today, I have been sober (in recovery) for sixteen days!

Nononononono33 · 09/10/2018 21:52

Love this thread. Had a productive day at work, went for a short run at the gym which I didn’t think I was going to manage. Really fancied takeaway when I got home but resisted and had my planned healthy meal. And it was lovely!

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 09/10/2018 21:53

I didn’t have anything sweet after lunch or dinner!! (I did have a g&t whilst making dinner)

Mummyshark2018 · 09/10/2018 22:01

DH away on business. Walked dog , got myself and Ds ready for school. Cycled to school with ds then on to first meeting. Cycled around town to 2 more meetings, supervision. School governor meeting. After school pick up, home, dog walk, dinner, bath, hoovered, cleaned dishes, shower, 2 hour work from home. Glass of wine :-) knackered!

FilthyforFirth · 09/10/2018 22:01

I went for a run, my first one in months. Was planning on just doing 1k to ease myself in. Ended up doing 2.5k. Rubbish time of 20 minutes, but pleased I did it! Although gutted to come home to my London marathon reject email...

(Possibly for the best as 6 months out I'm not even at a 5k distance)

RosiePosies · 09/10/2018 22:05

I ate a chopped up banana for breakfast - the first non beige thing I've eaten since I fell pregnant 2 and a half months ago

PookieDo · 09/10/2018 22:15

@AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley

Congratulations and well done Grin
