I don’t feel very appreciated by my teenagers. They appreciate a Kanye West song more than me Hmm

I think I should appreciate my own glorious self and we all should more often, even the little things we got done today?

Today I worked all day then came home did 2 laundry loads and just started putting a bed together by myself. I am determined it will be done by 9pm Grin but probably not if I am on MN

I posted a letter. It had been waiting to be posted for a fortnight.

HoraceWimpIsThisYourLife · 09/10/2018 19:50

I’ve learnt how to knit and am now well away with making my first scarf.

Crunchymum · 09/10/2018 19:50

cannotmakemymindup · 09/10/2018 19:51

I managed to make myself some soup and upload to my blog.
Not much but I have been ill in bed for three days, no energy etc,. So happy to finally achieve something today!

EspressoPatronum · 09/10/2018 19:54

Did half a days supply, nursery drop off and pick up and cooked tea without vomiting everywhere. I've also managed to keep some food down.

Survived the day with a shrieking, sobbing, teething 10 month old who's been up since 22:45 yesterday Grin

PookieDo · 09/10/2018 19:56

Well done to you all! I am so proud Grin

Managed to avoid bumping into STBXH in a totally random place and that after 28 years of marriage and merely feel pragmatic that this is how we behave with each other.

ScienceIsTruth · 09/10/2018 19:59

I got up.

I also managed about an hour of painting my bedroom wall, and I've made a slow roasted shoulder of lamb, stuffed with garlic and anchovies, and cooked on a bed of sliced potatoes (cooked in stock), for dinner. I'm also making a loaf of sourdough bread. I'm now so tired that I don't have the energy to eat it though.

Mrsharrison · 09/10/2018 19:59

I didn't spend any money. I am forcing myself to question " do i need that"?

ScienceIsTruth · 09/10/2018 20:02

Oh, and I finally remembered to call the Dr when they're actually open, and I even got through to a person (it's only taken me 3 weeks!).

Bodear · 09/10/2018 20:04

I stayed in work until 5.30 (normally not a problem but was tough today), acted normal all day and was there for my extended family. And I ate some vegetables.
Thank you OP, it may not seem like much but actually I’m proud of today now I’ve stopped to think about it.

ScienceIsTruth · 09/10/2018 20:06

Congrats, LEM.

HopefullyAnonymous · 09/10/2018 20:07

I went for a massage. After rearranging three times because I’d never had one before and kept getting really anxious about it, doing something wrong, making a fool of myself and generally catastrophising. First world problem I know but anxiety is a bitch!

Moominfan · 09/10/2018 20:12

Got to the gym before work and did stuff outside my comfort zone. Had a really productive day at work even though I wasn't feeling productive. Had a stress free journey with toddler, not so much my achievement more his. Had one cleaning job, the bathroom which I've done but also cleaned sofa. Sorted out life admin, cooked a decent meal.

peonysandhotcrossbuns · 09/10/2018 20:14

Sorted out some bank things which I could have buried my head in the sand about.
Took DD to a local toddler group and mixed with lots of new mums.
Didn't eat sugar or drink caffeine.

alittlequinnie · 09/10/2018 20:15

A work colleague's client came in - no appointment - I had to see him because everyone else was in meetings or on holiday.

Said client then complained at me for an hour and a 1/4 about one colleague of mine.

I hate this colleague and actually agreed with everything he said!

I am proud of my achievement of keeping an air of professionality and calming the client down...

... not so sure I am as happy that he now wants me to take over his case!!!

Mrsmadevans · 09/10/2018 20:16

Drying 2 lines of washing on the line. Making a new recipe for tea that the family liked. Taking care of my family .

NoUnicornsToSeeHere · 09/10/2018 20:16

I had a baby :) //for the third and absolutely final time...

headinhands · 09/10/2018 20:17

I used the drill and put up loads of shelves. And took a chopped up tree to the dump.

Nacknick · 09/10/2018 20:21

I'm in hospital and after just over a week in bed I got taken out for a walk by the physios and managed 4 flights of stairs.

Legs are mashed but felt so good to be up and about again!

QuickWash · 09/10/2018 20:22

Some of these are just lovely! Great thread, thank you for starting it.

I've had a good day in a small wins way. I did a load of washing and got it hung out to make good use of the sunshine (we will ignore my failure to get it in again..) I prepped a nice meal and got it in the slow cooker before leaving this morning. I took my toddler out for the day and really made time to join in with his play and be led by him.

I've reluctantly realised that getting up, busy and out is a good route to a successful day.

Givemeyourbunsandyourbiscuits · 09/10/2018 20:24

Made mashed potato for tea instead of frozen waffles

NotMyCircusMonkeys · 09/10/2018 20:33

Congratulations @NoUnicornsToSeeHere !! Boy/girl? How big?

I got through day 4 of a (currently 4 days and counting) migraine without vomiting. YAY.

Cath2907 · 09/10/2018 20:51

I survived the day. I asked DH to leave on the weekend so am in a bit of a newly separated haze. Got dog groomed, a days work done, tea made, DD consoled and even managed to top up car fluids (as it seems DH hadn’t done that either!)
