To say Four Weddings and a Funeral is CRAP

I've just watched Four Weddings and a Funeral for the first time on Netflix.

It's terrible! Like I genuinely don't understand how it's so well reviewed? Some of the characters are good but there's so many of them it's hard to keep track, and the whole things revolves and Charles pinning for a woman with whom he's had one conversation and slept with twice.

She cheats on her fiancé with Charles, is super flippant with feelings, ruins his wedding and he still loves her?! Meanwhile he hurts every woman he dates and doesn't seem to understand the concept of an alarm clock.

Am I missing something?! What other films are overrated - shall I even bother with When Harry Met Sally?

Can't stand the MN hatred of LA, seems that people jump on the band wagon a bit. I have read the article but think it's BS. Its a bloody film, just watch it, enjoy it or don't but don't make a big deal out of it.

I agree about that Jezebel article ZanyMobster. And it doesn't half go on.

My favourite line - 'eight is a lot of legs, David' - isn't funny in itself. It's the deadpan way the actress delivers it.

Limited - when I saw you had quoted my post I was bracing myself for a massive flaming Grin

There are lots of funny one liners. It is our Xmas eve movie every year. DS is 12 will be nearly 13 so he may watch it this year, hes quite old for 12 but the only bit I don't want I'm to see is the porn bit, I will cringe if he's there lol

Yes, OP, watch When Harry Met Sally - it's the ultimate feel-good film: sharp witty script, lovely story and the two main characters have such great chemistry - there isn't a single scene or line in it that feels unnecessary. Plus New York as a back-drop. It's my absolute favourite film - FWAAF doesn't come close!!!

It's not an either/or stringbean. They are both rom-coms that I enjoy
