Has anyone had this happen with their driving licence?

Just changed my car insurance and I have tried to upload my driving licence electronically (filling in the boxes in a link sent by the company).

Numerous unsuccessful attempts so they said I can send them a check code from the DVLA.

Went on their website to get the code and it’s also saying there is an error - WTAF? I have my licence here and all the details are correct.

Anyone got any idea what’s going on 🙈

Ring the DVLA.

Has your photocard expired?

I can’t now they are closed and insurance company threatening to cancel my policy.

No I got it last year when I changed my name.

I've never been asked for mine. I thought insurance companies did an online check with DVLA.

I need to confirm my licence annually for work. This has happened before but I just called and it was sorted over the phone

Have the insurance company spelled everything correctly? I got pulled by the police while heavily pregnant, made to sit in the back back of the patrol car- mortified tbh. The insurance policy had made a spelling error of 1 letter and when they checked my car it showed as not insured!! I hadn't noticed when the paperwork has arrived .
Police were not very nice to me!! Sad
Has to produce documents at the station within a week and pay £25 for new docs!!

Dh tried to check his and download the bit where it shows on the DVLA website what penalty points he had (none) for a security clearance. He wasn't able to as his UK licence had been rescinded on the advice of another issuing authority! As he had the licence in front of him, and hasn't ever applied for a foreign one, he was bemused. Sent off a query by letter and got a reply that it had been an error.

Spooky.

Sometimes if you have made changes to the details of your licence since it was issued when you passed your you have to just call the DVLA to confirm your identity and then can access your online counterpart no problem.
