I know I can get an ad blocker, (and am open to free recommendations!). In the meantime, AIBU in finding "Please Eat Something!" MN ad distasteful and insensitive? It's not the point but I had bulimia when younger, and DM has the same (we're both OK..)

Will try to attach image

I am fed up with it too, and I have an ad blocker which doesn't block this one.

pastabest · 08/10/2018 17:29

It's not an ad it's a mumsnet video.

I haven't watched it but I'm assuming it's aimed at parents with young children.

LittleMissPonsible · 08/10/2018 17:30

YANBU

They have food on their faces. Yuck.

I guess it kind of worked on me though, because it was annoying me so much I clicked on it to see what the video actually consisted of. Don’t watch it, it’s terrible. I won’t be exploring mumsnet videos again.

Laska5772 · 08/10/2018 17:32

Is there a way of blocking these MN video links?

thenightsky · 08/10/2018 17:37

Oh yes... I have to avoid looking at it. At first I thought the woman had really bad skin, then I realised it was meant to look like food on her face. Urgh!

EscapeTheCastle · 08/10/2018 17:53

I thought it was about spots.

My eye is drawn to her desperate face EVERY TIME, and it's emotionally draining me!

Firstworddinosaur · 08/10/2018 17:58

YANBU

Fluffypyjamas · 08/10/2018 18:00

Had no idea it was food! I did wonder how someone with such bad skin had been chosen to front a video. It's annoying.

AviatorShades · 08/10/2018 18:03

Orange chips, anyone? Wink

SpoonBlender · 08/10/2018 18:05

My adblocker (uBlock Origin) allows me to right-click on things and choose "block element". It's great.

SondheimFan · 08/10/2018 18:06

God, I thought I was just being weird, but for some reason the food spatters on the woman's face gross me out -- my brain process them as putrid forehead pimples or something, despite the fact that I 'know' it's food.

Thank you SpoonBlender - it turns out my adblocker does that too, and I would never have known if you hadn't posted. Bye bye food-splattered people!

I thought it was about anorexia and that the lady on the left had gotten ill somehow. YANBU

PaulaPennyfeather · 08/10/2018 19:55

It's utterly vile. YANBU!

SpamChaudFroid · 08/10/2018 20:05

Yay, thanks SpoonBlender. //I thought the man on the right was a nefarious feeder, and pleading with the woman to stuff her face for his gratification. //(Now I can't get paragraphs, and I wonder if the 2 are connected?)

klondike555 · 09/10/2018 08:21

Also adding my thanks to Spoonblender! Flowers
