Noooooooo!!!!!
It’s bloody October ffs!

bangersmashandbeans · 07/10/2018 01:11

Just about to. Amazon basket is filling up

Oddcat · 07/10/2018 01:16

I have , only because I hate Christmas , so (in my mind ) if I do it well in advance , then I'm just shopping and not Christmas shopping.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 07/10/2018 01:26

I love Christmas! I love decorating and buying presents and mulled wine and cosy fires and carols and lights and pickled walnuts and being with friends and family and playing the greatest Christmas song ever, Mary’s Boy Child, Boney M very loud BUT not in October!?!
By all means buy something and put it to one side, but keep it to yourself!
We have Halloween & Guy Fawkes to go yet!

cheesymashandbeans · 07/10/2018 01:38

@Aintnothingbutaheartache that's my favourite Christmas song too!

Yes I have started Christmas shopping! I start picking bits up in about March! I love Christmas! I bought a tree decoration today as I got over excited at the Christmas stock in tkmaxx, I got an eye roll from DH! GrinGrin

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 07/10/2018 01:47

cheesy when buying tree decorations always remember the rules! Buy one or three! Put the lights on first and ensure that large baubles go near the bottom, always balance and if you must use tinsel please ensure that it doesn’t cross over itself.
Ensure you have plenty of chestnuts and............aaaaarrrrghgh! You’ve sucked me in!!!,!

moredoll · 07/10/2018 01:57

Thinking wise, yes. Actually doing something about it, no.

AfterSchoolWorry · 07/10/2018 01:57

I bought stamps for the cards yesterday because I'm not getting caught in that post office queue in December.

No, no, no!

KC225 · 07/10/2018 02:27

Yes, buy a present a month, to spread the cost and shopping. Its served very well this year as DH was unexpectedly made redundant last week.

cheesymashandbeans · 07/10/2018 11:56

@Aintnothingbutaheartache are we the same person?? GrinGrinGrin
I have 2 Christmas trees, both completely covered in tinsel and different baubles, NO colour scheme, I firmly believe that a Christmas tree should look like a tin of quality street with all the different shiny colours!
I already have written on the calendar that dec 1st is tree putting up day... it falls on a Saturday this year so it's perfect!

buscaution · 07/10/2018 12:02

Yes. Main presents are in the cupboard. Now that the expensive things are out of the way I can potter about buying the bits and pieces at leisure Grin

I ordered them all online one day when storm Ali was working the way across the county to try and alleviate some of the boredom.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 07/10/2018 17:42

cheesy 😂 I also have 2 🌲, 1 looks like a box of quality street the other has white lights, glass balls and only silver decs are allowed!
This started so I could let the dc loose on decorating but not touch my masterpiece!

MumUnderTheMoon · 07/10/2018 17:43

I've finished my shopping and I am making the rest.

SpoonBlender · 07/10/2018 18:00

I've got a few things in hand that I've found during the year. I've got nothing against getting presents early.

I'd be happy to take a pair of scissors or a flamethrower to any speaker that's emitting Christmas music before December though.
