To ask you for careers advice for my husband?

My husband works in HE in data analysis, business intelligence, statutory returns and reporting.

He’s looking to move into the private sector and for salary around £70k.

Can you please recommend some recruitment agencies he could approach as this isn’t my area at all! We’ve googled but it’s hard to tell which agencies are reputable and good at matching candidates with roles.

I said the MN hive mind would come up with the answers.

We live in SW London and would commute about an hour - we’ve near Northern Line and mainline to Waterloo.

Thanks in advance!

Is he on LinkedIn? Lots of recruiters on there... Can’t recommend a specific agency unfortunately, as I’m in a different sector.

He is on there but doesn’t want his current employer to see he’s looking.

I will advise him to brush up his profile though! Thanks for the advice!

This was recommended to me at a 'Skills Development Agency'
www.agencycentral.co.uk/
It lists many types of agencies

Merryoldgoat · 07/10/2018 00:10

Thank you, but it’s actually not quite what he’s looking for as you have to specify an industry rather than a job type.

Not an agency, but he might like to have a look at Pearson. Education company (FTSE 100), offices in convenient locations and certainly has staff working in those areas.

Merryoldgoat · 07/10/2018 00:14

Thanks Avo - I’ll get him to look at them

On linked in can you not turn on the bit about recruiters being able to see you without anyone really noticing you've done that ? And if anyone at his work said job hunting are you he could say what do you mean? And they said you're linked in thingy is on he could just turn it off and plead ignorance. Worth a shot!

Merryoldgoat · 07/10/2018 08:48

That’s a good idea Trebus - I’ll get him to polish up his profile and check the settings!

Neither of us really use LinkedIn much so aren’t sure of a lot of functionality.

It's a bit sly but it's a way of getting his name out there to the right people and then just pleading ignorance if anyone at his job notices.
