AIBU?
Halloween decorations

I'm off shopping in a while so thought I would get the MN opinion first.
I am usually not into Halloween at all. We moved house last year and the village we now live went to town and I looked a right moody cow tbh. I came home from work and was literally the only house not decorated. Didn't even have any sweets in.
My dc have never really asked either as it was never a big thing where we lived before but they felt left out last year too.
They've never even gone trick or treating before.
Anyway this year we are doing Halloween much to their delight.
What I want to know is the dc and I wanted to decorate the house scary carnival theme.
So we have bought some clown shoes to place outside the front door and I've been looking for scary clowns/ carnival door decorations and have even found a circus playlist to play through a speaker haha. Was going to give toffee apples to the trick or treaters.
I was telling a friend and she thinks it's way too scary for a village full of children. I can't see it myself?
Wibu to decorate like that? Or shall I stick to the pumpkins and neon ghost type lights?

Children often like scary, and your ideas sound fine to me.
I', going to be in the process of moving around then, so this year am not decorating. But next year will do so, although I think we'll be a bit off the beaten path for trick or treaters.

maybe you could play a different song? like the monster mash? might make the younger kids feel more at ease. it sounds fab!

Great
Pennywise is going in the trolley.
- it's not actually pennywise but he's not a friendly looking clown

It's not been too bad.
Amazon have been good. A couple of banners from them and some bloody hand prints for the window have cost about £6 I in total.
The clown shoes are Amazon also around £6
And the clowns I've seen are around £20. That'll be the biggest expense.

It sounds like a great idea to me! I love decorating for Halloween!

I’m in the process of building an 8ft pumpkin head scarecrow to “climb” out of the tree in my front yard so your idea sounds fine to me! Living in the US, some of the houses are absolutely terrifying but the kids LOVE them!

Sainsburys have a mechanical dancing cat in a purple cloak and purple witches hat that dances and wiggles its bum to I Put A Spell On You.
