To think our addiction to disposable fashion is getting worse, not better?

I think a decade or so ago there was a spread of awareness about the high cost of disposable fashion (ie cheap clothes that get worn a couple of times and thrown out). By high cost I mean in terms of what it means for people working in sweatshop conditions and also the environmental impact.

But I think it’s getting worse, not better. There seems to be a huge growth in websites selling very cheap clothes that are all horrible cheap polyester and only get worn by people a handful of times, if that - Boohoo, I saw it first, etc. My local charity shops are full of this stuff.an article I read today seems to confirm this - apparently British people buy more clothes than any other nation and most of it ends up in landfill.

I think part of the problem is the quality, even of more expensive clothes, is so poor it means you might as well buy cheap stuff and accept it won't last.
