I think it's safe to say that 99.999999% of folk know this. Spit it out to whoever it is that has been stupid enough to do it.

Unfortunately 99.9% of people don’t appear to know this, or if they do they ignore it. Their right to visit is much more important don’t you know.🙄

Why do you think this is unreasonable. D&V can spread within hours, closing wards, closing hospitals to new admissions, stops patients being sent to other hospitals for treatment or back to their carehomes, staff go off sick, vulnerable patients can become seriously ill and die, patients can have their procedures and operations cancelled. It's irresponsible, selfish and can have very serious consequences.

If I knew I would tell them. I have now spent 48 hours unable to eat, barely able to sip water, because someone didn'tknow or didn't care. The last time dh had an op appt he came home with a similar bug which had me ill for over a week. This one I picked up during an o p appt too.

When my mother was in hospital I couldn't believe the visiting situation, people there all the time, dozens of visitors for one patient, sitting on the bed, especially in dirty work clothes! In the 60s when we were kids and she was in hospital there was a set time to visit and maximum of 3 visitors. My father would come home from his manual work, wash thoroughly and put on clean clothes, I recall my brother tripping as we went in and the ward sister made him go and wash himself before we went in, and as for sitting on the bed.....!

I don’t get this attitude. Do people genuinely believe that “if sick people just stayed at home, disease would be eradicated”? It’s not that simple. Diseases are often contagious before symptoms show. I’m sorry OP, you must be feeling horrid, but wasting energy blaming “that person” won’t help you.

to be honest OP it's far more likely you picked it up from someone somewhere who had';t come down with symptoms yet. It could have been at hospital or could have been anywhere else. why would it be more likely to be at hospital?

I am sorry your're ill but we all have these bugs sometimes, they are dreadful but sadly a normal part of life.
