I know I am because this isn't an unreasonable but a cry for help.
I've posted on the money board but I'm so desperate I need help.
Please can anyone give me any tips on how to raise £700 in a short amount of time?

Is there any homeless charities in your area who would be able to help you out, even with a loan?

HildaOgdensFlyingDucks · 03/10/2018 04:58

Go to the CAB and find out if there are any organisations near you like a bond board that are set up specifically to help private renters with deposits and other associated moving expenses. Good luck.

On the subject of your phone contract messing up your credit score, this happened to me and stopped me getting a mortgage.

It was the mobile companies fault and eventually got sorted out. I would look into this, your credit score is so important and if it's nothing you did they should be able to sort it.

Everyone else has offered great advice, so I have nothing else to add, but I hope you get back on your feet soon.

Celestia26 · 03/10/2018 07:25

Belina I really don't think that's a good idea, Mumsnet advise against doing this sort of a thing for a reason.

This might be able to help you get to the bottom of your credit score problems, and maybe get the offending things removed.

MSE forums would be a far better source of constructive advice than MN with all due respect. A lot of people will think you are angling for donations (I know you have said you're not) and therefore won't engage with you. MSE have experts on board who will guide you through the best way of borrowing/earning money.

Weeding - I'd pay for someone to weed my garden if they knew what they were doing.

Sorry mumsnet did not know my message was against the rules.
I can see why though anyway op if you look on gumtree ect they sometimes have paid research things which you can go to it wont be a lot of money but like 50 pounds you stay there for about a hour and they ask questions

Belina · 03/10/2018 12:03

Cleaning is defo something everyone looks for and it is quick money

You can apply to your local council's deposit guarantee scheme. Usually they will have a list of local landlords who accept a written bond.

Are you registered for social housing?

brokenanddesperate · 16/10/2018 17:51

Would just like to update everyone on my situation.

I have applied for housing benefits and universal credit and am just waiting to hear back on it all - unfortunately this process seems to take longer than in the next county over.
I have also applied for a job and am awaiting feedback but it is looking good.
I also received a cheque in the post for a tax refund so I did manage to get money quickly in a way.

Thank you everyone for your advice and support, it really helped me 😊

That's great news, OP! Best of luck with it all Smile

brokenanddesperate · 17/10/2018 12:35

Thank you @HildaOgdensFlyingDucks
I managed to apply for housing benefits wrong (why can't things just be made easy rather than all of the faff it entails 😂) but I'm still remaining hopeful
