AIBU to be fed up with public urination right outside my garden and report the bin man?!

Nc for this as diagram is outing. There's a makeshift path through some shrubbery on the other side of my garden fence, this path cuts through to the main road.
As a result it's quite common for passers by to stop and take a leak in the bushes.
It's visible from every window and if you're in the back garden you're only stood a few metres away! Diagram on it's way of course.

So today I witnessed a bin man hovering around outside the fence, went upstairs to change DC and saw him taking a leak in the shrubbery. In hi vis whilst smoking a fag Envy < not envy

AIBU to report him?
Please tell me I'm not alone in thinking this is disgusting.
Just to make it worse there's a big supermarket literally less than a minutes walk away, with clean free toilets..

Yes, report him. Also buy a large surveillance camera and train it on that spot. Dont switch it on though...ugh!

kaytee87 · 01/10/2018 13:51

It's common for people to urinate there??? How often does it happen? Yuck!

Yes I'd report.

Rubbishdelivery · 01/10/2018 13:53

Thankfully he was facing away from me.. I have a photo of him emerging from the bushes, taken in a moment of madness and rage at all the people who think it's just another toilet 😡 so if I report him he'll be easily identifiable and won't be able to deny anything.

I reported our bin men for having group smoking sessions under a tree near my window! Hardly a good ad for your local council!

Rubbishdelivery · 01/10/2018 13:54

It happens way too often. Generally on weekends when people are walking home from town drunk. Just fed up of seeing it all the time.

It was a red bin lorry- so glass collection I think?

I sympathise OP . Our house is set back from the road at one end of a private access road and the number of times I have witnessed/caught the same behaviour behind my high front wall and hedge.
I once ran out with some loo roll (so incensed was I) the "pisser" was suitably embarrassed.
DS2 was once acused of being a "perve" when he walked down the garden path in the early hours and caught a woman crouched with her drawers down , she threatened to call the police, until DS pointed out she was trespassing!
We have a pyracantha hedge, to no avail!

We actually had an incident earlier this year where we found a man passed out drunk leaning on the other side of our fence. Gave him a plastic cup of water only for him to say he was hiding and to then jump into our garden and onto one of our bushes Angry thankfully police were round the corner.

Is the cut through on your land? I'm assuming not, just next to it. Could the council block it off if it's public land? I'd complain to them everytime someone does it, keep diaries, even get CCTV if needed. It's becoming repeat anti social behaviour

AngelsSins · 01/10/2018 14:09

Repulsive. I will never understand adult sober men thinking they have the right to piss in the street like dogs.

Rubbishdelivery · 01/10/2018 14:19

Sadly it's not just men who use it as a loo.

It's public land, there is a broken fence that used to block off the makeshift path but it's been broken so often the council don't even bother to fix or replace it any more.

Angels lucky you that you've always had work that has toilets available then. Lots of people are not in this position.

DingDongDenny · 01/10/2018 15:11

We had something similar to this in our last house. Our garden backed on to public land and they put a big storage container on it, then lots of kids then used to climb in behind it and use it as a toilet. It was effectively our back garden at that point

I eventually managed to get the container removed, but it took ages.

I would complain and keep a diary/evidence. Could you offer to purchase the land from the council and incorporate it into your garden?

Molokonono · 01/10/2018 15:13

I'd get a trail camera for the wildlife [obvs that's what you tell people] and post every incidence of pissing on the local spotting facebook page. It's what it was designed for surely?

averylongtimeago · 01/10/2018 15:20

You can see from your windows?
A huge super soaker is what you need. Get them mid pee.

wafflyversatile · 01/10/2018 15:27

It is rude but it is the men just out and about going from one place to another that would annoy me, rather than the bin men. Go to the toilet before you leave home/the pub etc or what until you get to a toilet, you know, like women manage to do all the fucking time. But for binmen and probably quite a few other jobs no toilet provision is made and public toilets aren't exactly abundant in residential areas. It's not so easy to get through a whole shift without peeing.

Rubbishdelivery · 01/10/2018 20:51

I would understand if he was pushed for time, but he sat down on the ground outside his truck to finish his fag, then got out a newspaper... toilets literally 1 min away
