How tall is your washing machine? Mine supposed to be 85cm, but isn't.

I was about to buy a new washing machine online when I thought I should make sure it was going to fit. The spec says it is 85cm tall, but the gap under my workbench is only 83cm. I tried to find an alternative washing machine, but their specs said they were all 85cm too. I then looked up the spec for my current washing machine, and that also says it's 85cm! But I'm measuring it as just under 83cm - if it wasn't then it wouldn't fit under the bench!

I feel I'm going mad. Please can you all measure your washing machines and tell me whether they really are 85cm tall or actually only 83cm.

DH suggested maybe they all come with feet that are optional. Is that the answer to the mystery?

Sorry, but I've just measured mine and it's definitely 85cm

My Bosch one is 84cm with feet (but unsure if they're removable!)

I think most have adjustable feet which is handy if your floors are not level.

I have known people to take off the top panel to slide them under the worktop. I assume this would invalidate your guarantee and no idea how safe it is given that water and electricity are not a good mix.
