I have been listening to someone outside moan to their friend about the weather, the cold, the price of heating for 10 minutes now. Can we have some positives?

I like the festive hot chocolates at Costa and seeing young kids out in the snow for the first time Smile

making soup
making toffee apple crumble
crisp air with a hint of woodsmoke
golden light through the trees as you head home from work
frost on the leaves
preparation for Christmas - making puddings, decorating the house, buying stocking fillers

went for walk the other day and DS1 who is 16 noticed lots of spiders webs glistening with dew, hanging in the long grass. He was smitten by how pretty they were, flashback to the little boy not the teenager.

The midwinter solstice. The hope that comes with knowing the days will become longer. Sod midsummers day, that just reminds me the dark evenings are coming...

Give me autumn and winter any day. Much prefer long walks in blustery weather, leaves turning colour or on the ground, shop windows all lit up early, pubs with open fires. And at home, I just find it more "snuggly" and cosy.

Jogging in the dark - no one can see my red face 😊

I hate it with a passion.
