My daughter won't stop smoking cannabis. She has suggested I get her CBD oil to vape as a legal alternative. Just wondered if anyone here has any direct experience? I of course am researching it but wanted any first hand feedback or experiences please?

my dad used cbd oil in a vape when receiving treatment for cancer he also used thc oil which he felt helped more for the pain etc. cbd is legal as it is used for other than getting you stoned etc where as thc is the component that gives you the stoned feeling so if thats the reason she smokes it cbd wont do anything.my dad smoked weed for over 40 years so the cbd had no effect on anything for him. also the cbd sold in places like holland and barrett are in such small concentrations that they have barely any effect.

CBD oil doesn't give the same effects as being stoned. Unless it also has the chemical THC in it, thus making it illegal. CBD oil is only legal for medicinal purposes and can't have a THC count higher than 0.2%, otherwise every stoner would be legally vaping wherever they fancied 🤷🏻‍♀️

She's suggesting YOU get HER the oil?! Two things here, one, as PPs have said, the oil won't give her that effect, and two, surely she should be out there trying to find an alternative...? Sorry OP, clearly I don't know the ins and outs (ie is she under your roof still, how old she is, history of substance abuse etc) but yes, support her but don't let her make you find the solutions. She needs to do this research and solution finding WITH you. I hope it works out for you both.

PS.. Am cross for you, not with you!!!

CBD oil has medicinal uses but won't get her high. However, if she wanted to give up cannabis she may find it helpful to reduce anxiety, help her sleep...

And to echo the other poster my mum was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer last year, and we got her straight onto pure CBD oil which was like a thick black tar and cost 90 quid for a 5ml syringe. Small dot under her tongue 3x per day and she flew through her op, treatment, and recovery. Fully on board with the use of it for medicinal reasons. But in your situation, it won't help OP. It isn't a legal way to get stoned.

Sorry to hear about your mum NoPhelange.

She's 14 and yes it was her suggestion. I've up trying to stop her so now I'm looking for an alternative, maybe CBD oil isn't the right product though.

If you look on youtube there are many videos advertising certain vapes to get high - but I think 14 is a bit young to be doing this - it's like you are condoning it

Why is she smoking cannabis? If it's a social (cool) thing, CBD oil won't do a thing. If it's to help with anxiety, then the oil might help. She might not know herself why she does it of course.

In my experience the longer people smoke weed, the more it might relate to being a coping mechanism to social anxiety. Her smoking might seem like rebellion and/or selfishness but also might be to numb some more intense feelings.

I am trying CBD oil for the first time, and sadly it's doing nothing to help my anxiety, but a lot of people I've spoken to (stoners and non) have said it helps.
