I've been feeding my 5 month old at night in a lying down position. Now i think my duct may be blocked. Feels bruised and nipple area puffy on one side.
Any tips on how to unblock and is the lying down position not the best?

Have you had any luck shifting it yet op? Have a look at 'dangle feeding' on KellyMom. Not the most dignified position, but it can really work on blockages.

Will try the dangle position. Still blocked and painful Sad

Keep feeding on that side as often as possible. You can also try applying a bit flannel, and massaging it under a hot shower

Apply heat and massage before each feed, as well as massaging during a feed if feasible. Positioning your baby's chin towards the blockage is supposed to help as well. Nothing necessarily wrong with feeding lying down, night it be that it's resulted in pressure being applied to a particular area of the breast? Or it might just be one of those things.

Remember if you start to feel shivery and generally unwell (flu-like) then you need medical attention.

Massage in a hot shower. If you can bear it then a wide comb applied from outward towards the nipple can help (applies even pressure)
As pp state: any shivers, dizziness, feeling hot/cold then get to the GP asap. Whatever you do don’t stop feeding from that side.
You poor love. I’m a bugger for mastitis and blocked ducts.
Think I’ve had it about a dozen times over the years (breastfed 4 children for a long time!) and it’s a fucking nightmare.
Look after yourself, o do hope your other half is looking after you Flowers

bit flannel was meant to say hot flannel!

In my experience it usually takes a day to clear and then another 1-2 days of soreness where I've massaged it hard and made it ache
