We are away on holiday and my 10 month old baby found a tablet on the floor and put it in her mouth for literally 1 second and I got it out.

It was a small yellow round tablet, that seemed to be dissolving easily.

How bad will this be?? We gave her a drink straight away and she seems totally fine. ShockConfused

Let us know how you get on.

Personally, if I’d got it out straight away, I wouldn’t have given it a second thought. Clearly not how most people (on MN) would react though.

Alwa · 29/09/2018 19:23

Well done for going, hope you get sorted quickly.

MagnaDoodle · 29/09/2018 19:24

This thread is so at odds with the smint thread.

“Lick it”

moneyquestions2405 · 29/09/2018 19:24

@AnnieAnoniMouse

That was my thinking, initially.

However, it had started to dissolve easily.

Never thought a tablet would melt the second it touches your tongue?

The risk is, there may have been more than one tablet & DC may have swallowed one before you saw? Or not.

Its hard for the Drs to know & so they will probably be extra cautious.

anitagreen · 29/09/2018 19:26

I take yellow anti histomines they look like that and they dissolve really fast

Aquamarine1029 · 29/09/2018 19:26

I'm concerned it could be a street drug. I'm very glad you've taken her to hospital.

moneyquestions2405 · 29/09/2018 19:28

She definitely could not have taken more than that. Absolutely not, 110%.

We had changed her on the floor, she rolled over, picked it up and straight in her mouth. And I straight away pulled it out. It literally happened as quick as that.

@anitagreen thank you that gives me hope, she takes anti histamines for her allergies anyway, so that would be fine. 🤞🏼

I think 5mg Diazepm tablets are yellow.

A&E straight away just to be sure she is ok.

Goodadvice1980 · 29/09/2018 19:29

D’oh!

Should read Diazepam.

mumsastudent · 29/09/2018 19:31

any pharmacies in supermarkets open nearby? do not make baby sick as regurgitating somethings can hurt throat on way up

Digggers · 29/09/2018 19:33

If it's easily dissolving it'll be a sublingual tablet, meant to be put under the tounge and not swallowed,

moneyquestions2405 · 29/09/2018 19:33

@Goodadvice1980

Just googled those, it wasn’t that shade of yellow. They are more a buttercup yellow, no writing on it.

My antidepressants dissolve really quickly. —they’re white, though—

I agree that a phone call to the owners could be helpful.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 29/09/2018 19:35

Does the hotel allow dogs? My first thought was that it looks like an ACP tablet but then I work in veterinary so only really familiar with animal drugs!

Are you on the way to A&E?

moneyquestions2405 · 29/09/2018 19:36

@anitagreen

Does your tablets have any writing on them?

OP posts:
FellSwoop · 29/09/2018 19:36

Hope everything is ok and that it's just vit C or similar. Glad you aren't taking any risks though!

IABURQO · 29/09/2018 19:36

Hope the baby's ok and the doctors work out what it is quickly.

Fiffyshadesofgreymatter · 29/09/2018 19:37

Are you at the hospital yet? I don't understand why you're still posting.

shinycat · 29/09/2018 19:38

Hope you kiddie is OK.

LeonoraFlorence · 29/09/2018 19:38

There’s a small yellow dissolving tablet you put under your lip to stop sickness. Buccastem.
