To be mortified I just shouted 'fuck off you cunt' at my boss.

Bad day, terrible even. Was in a foul mood walking home from work. Crossing road at a T junction with my head down and a car beeped at me as it turned in to the minor road.
Assuming it was an impatient driver who honked at me to get out of the way, I looked up and shouted at the top of my voice 'FUCK OFF YOU CUNT!'
As the last word left my mouth I realised it was my boss and he was pipping his horn and waving to say hello. His window was down so I've no doubt he heard what I said.
We both looked at each other in horror as he drove off.
Shit, shit, shit.
It'll be ok, right?

The only thing here that’s unreasonable is you thinking you are being unreasonable for being mortified. You will be fine- as long as he’s a reasonable bloke!

Lethaldrizzle · 01/10/2018 16:41

I'm glad it worked out for you but if I saw that one of my employees had such a volatile temper it wouldn't be great

ToftyAC · 01/10/2018 16:46

If I was your boss I’d be PMSL-ing Smile

DarlingNikita · 01/10/2018 16:50

Aw, your manager and big boss sound lovely. They've both got your back.

I work for myself now good job because I regularly used to want to shout cunt at my colleagues but I just know my last boss would have been torn between pissing himself laughing and offering sympathy/biscuits/showing genuine concern.

This is very funny. Ignore the pearl-clutching.

Belina · 01/10/2018 16:51

Lol op he will understand say you didnt realise

Bekstar · 01/10/2018 16:53

May be worth while saying you thought a driver who had a go earlier while you crossed the road was going back to have another go or something. Then pray to God he doesn't read MN

KitKat1985 · 01/10/2018 16:54

I'm glad your boss saw the funny side OP. x

Aeroflotgirl · 01/10/2018 16:54

I am so pleased, he sounds really sweet. A big finger, to all the sanctimonious pearl clutchers ripping into op for making a mistake outside work.

Aeroflotgirl · 01/10/2018 16:55

For the record, I swore at a car driver who drove round me on a zebra crossing, the idiot!

stiffstink · 01/10/2018 17:02

I gave the middle finger to a driver that pulled out on me. It was one of the mums from school 😂

carpettile · 01/10/2018 17:03

Glad he took it so well so I can do some serious guilt free laughing that was the best thing ever :-)

SirVixofVixHall · 01/10/2018 17:07

Your boss sounds lovely.

IDoLoveToBeBesideTheSeaside · 01/10/2018 17:13

Well, I think you can be sure that your boss knows who you are now itchy! I hope you can calm down now after worrying all weekend.

I think you need to keep us posted about how your promotion goes Flowers.

InfiniteVariety · 01/10/2018 17:17

Years ago I was walking through town with a friend carrying heavy bags. Ahead of us on a narrow pavement a couple were dithering and my friend had to walk out into the road with her heavy bags to get round them and muttered "block the fucking pavement, why don't you?" in her most grumpy voice as she passed. They looked mildly surprised but said nothing. That evening she & her DH went to a dinner party and.... yes you've guessed it.... that couple were 2 of the other guests. She said it was very very awkward and her DH couldn't understand why she was so quiet all evening Grin

dwab45 · 01/10/2018 17:25

I don’t know you, but I love you to bits. Hope your boss loves you as well

OliviaStabler · 01/10/2018 17:34

Great ending op

PlinkPlink · 01/10/2018 17:35

I'm de-lurking.

But I have been giggling OP... Mainly at your reasonably light hearted post being taken SO seriously! God the drama! 😂😂😂
Particularly those who are offended at the word 'cunt' and therefore think you deserve to be admonished when you already feel shit. Clicking off the thread is clearly not an option. They must say something before they flounce off in a dramatic huff 😂

I'm glad it's turned out well. We all have bad days. We all have days where we are not our best and something small just tips us over.

EleanorofCastile · 01/10/2018 17:41

Best thread in ages OP, so glad it all worked out well for you.

Thanks for the laugh.

Moral of the story - mumsnet is not the same as real life.

SootyandMathew · 01/10/2018 17:44

I'm delighted it worked out for you in work and really sorry to hear about your family member. Hope you're ok.

Lillithxxx · 01/10/2018 17:52

Why would you shout that at anyone?
It’s a horrible thing to say.

LoveAScaryTaleMe · 01/10/2018 17:58

Not quite the same OP, I left the office the other day having booked the Monday off and shouted very loudly as I walked out of the door "see you next Tuesday" which as every teenager knows means C.U.N.T . Alas I am not a teenager!

brightspark2 · 01/10/2018 17:59

OP, your Manager and your Big Boss both just earned you signing them up to Mumsnet.
They are at the very least honorary Mumsnetters and this is clearly why they’re bosses!

The pearl clutchers appear to have spelt Netmums wrong....

itchybumhole · 01/10/2018 17:59

I actually think I've started to form a proper working relationship with my boss. Smile
As he left the office he waved and said 'have a good evening xxxx'.

Amazed that it's actually worked out well, and he's not disgusted with me.

Before posters come along to tell me I am disgusting, I already know I was a very naughty girl to have said a rude word about a lady's parts in public.

LoveAScaryTaleMe · 01/10/2018 17:59

^^ sorry should have said I shouted this at my boss.

lily1110 · 01/10/2018 18:02

If it makes you feel any better my mum worked as a cook for a catholic nunnery for years - she once gave a carload of them the middle finger for joyfully tooting her and waving whilst she crossed at the traffic lights, she did get glasses soon after!
