It has always been my dream to visit america however i have never actually got round to it, a few months ago I booked for my bf and I to go to florida for a fortnight next year, the total cost of the holiday was just under 4 thousand including park tickets etc and the hotel is right at the entrance of universal which made it a little more expensive but the company i booked with lets you pay up in monthly direct debit so that made it affordable

last week i found out i'm pregnant and due 2 months before I go, when I told my mum I jokingly said "there goes Florida" and she said she would look after the baby to let us go

so, do I go or not?

Leaving the baby -no way
Taking the baby- theoretically possible but you will be knackered and won't enjoy it nearly as much.

I would cancel. Or is there any chance you could bring it forward to later this year? That would be ok.

I would cancel. My DS is 5 and the longest I've ever been away from him is 4 nights, I still couldn't do longer than that even now. Let alone when he was a baby.

I would take the baby with me if I was in your situation. Newborns are the easiest age to fly with, they'll sleep most of the flight and you can request seats with a bassinet.

My SIL took my niece to Orlando at 3/4months old. Everywhere is air-conditioned, there are plenty of mother and baby areas for changing and feeding (she spent a lot of time at Disney but I believe Universal have the same facilities) and they had a great time. Obviously you'd have to do single rider and take the days a bit slower than you would without a baby but I imagine that post partum there is a chance you might not be up to the usual 20,000 step days anyway?

I don't think there's anything wrong in leaving your baby with your mum if you're ok about it, but there's no way of knowing how you'll be post birth. I had very different ideas before having my son and the birth changed everything, I was a lot more anxious with a newborn than I had anticipated. So it's a really tough call!

There's just no guarantee of this. My DD screamed for about 4 solid months after she was born.
