@aliceinwonderlust23 many did have conversations with MNHQ and perhaps got on with the extra traffic and knew it would die down. There were times where those being discussed joined in. But ultimately they were accounts courting attention. And in terms of fan base support on Instagram it got them plenty. Who knows.
But equally you don’t see Jamie Oliver and Katie Price threads and posts removed. I think it’s quite sensible to have certain things off topic. As a general rule aibu is quite open discussion. I admit at times the instamum protection can be irritating and I was annoyed at being suspended when I was really not intending to slate, but I just feel it’s for a deeper reason than what’s being suggested.

CherryCone · 01/10/2018 22:55

@honeyandmilk I did as you said and had a look at this thread but tbh you seem to be the only one who has been deleted several times, so I'm not sure what you mean by everyone being deleted Confused

This thread has taken a weird turn and I'm not sure I like it.

CadyHeron · 01/10/2018 22:57

I wonder how all the other 'instamums' are doing after a years worth of threads dissecting their characters at times in truly awful ways

Agree, I've said all along that it must be awful to go through character assassinations on here and just because they "put themselves out there" doesn't mean they're fair game.

EvePolastri · 01/10/2018 22:57

Thread will go guys.... instagram is so much bigger than that one instagrammer ( who is really not that interesting anymore tbh)

EvePolastri · 01/10/2018 22:58

Look at what Mrs Hinch has found!

Step too far at being silver/glittery/shiny

I did see one Jamie Oliver account get pulled actually a while back, some of the comments were absolutely vile on it.

CadyHeron · 01/10/2018 23:00

Account, I meant thread!

CadyHeron · 01/10/2018 23:02

I love the Mrs Hinch sparkly lightswitches, bit of glam Grin
Think they'd look out of place here though as my house isn't shiny enough lol.

CherryCone · 01/10/2018 23:02

You know, I agree with you @coffeetimee
I'm not happy to see @honeyandmilk "forced" out and @MrBull it's not up to you what is said here, but I am sure you know this Smile

MightyMousie · 01/10/2018 23:02

@cadyheron to be honest I feel that people wanted them to be real. MP played it well, being humble, likeable, engaging. Admiring she had no idea what the effects on her children would be.
Others showed nothing but arrogance to the followers who gave them the position they found themselves in. So to be honest when you look at them now, some words may have sting but they’ve reinvented their accounts and come back stronger and more focused and wiser.

MightyMousie · 01/10/2018 23:05

@cherrycone I agree that honeyandmilk should be forced out of discussion, but I’m not sure what was going on? All the posts related to one account and were clearly hinting at things that weren’t going to be discussed and posts were removed, so where could that go unless you join in other angles of conversation?

MightyMousie · 01/10/2018 23:05

Shock should NOT be forced out-typo

SpiritLeveller · 01/10/2018 23:06

Coffeetimee we are very open to new opinions however whenever they are expressed wrt one particular Instagram account it ends up with the whole thread getting deleted. If you have opinions not related to one instagrammer who must not be named then go ahead, always open to discussion on new ethical topics regarding insta. No one is happy with this but if it means the rest of it stays, we put up with it.

MightyMousie · 01/10/2018 23:07

Am I allowed to say I think that light switch is absolutely hideous? Or is that on-light bullying?

You can say that Wink

SpiritLeveller · 01/10/2018 23:09

Honeyandmilk hasn’t been forced out.

EvePolastri · 01/10/2018 23:09

But what did coffee say?

Is someone reporting or is the thread being watched??

It's unsettling

MrBull · 01/10/2018 23:10

🙄 I'm not driving anyone out. She said she was going herself, but I do think it's for the best, given the level of interest/involvement she has with a certain person we've been told is not in a good headspace because of previous threads on here. If you guys want a thread about that person, go ahead and start one though! There's nothing stopping you - other than MNHQ of course.

OP posts:
CadyHeron · 01/10/2018 23:12

I've not got a clue what's going on, but it's obvious some have issues with others and how is that helping on here?
I'm with MrBull on this one.

EvePolastri · 01/10/2018 23:15

Yes, you can talk about that person, and all the others, on reddit,Gomi and I.tattle

Plenty of other sites have issues with that one

EvePolastri · 01/10/2018 23:16

I'd rather not discuss that account here, simply because it's so boring!!

glagdy · 02/10/2018 01:55

I feel really uncomfortable with posts being deleted left right and centre. Especially seeing as all of my posts that were deleted didn't even come close to contravening mn guidelines. Sad

AtHomeInFrance · 02/10/2018 05:50

Agree to a point about character assassinations *Cady - clearly they are neither kind or helpful. Do though think it is important to call out the tactics some of these influencers use to flog people things.... and to raise concerns about the use of children to do so.
