I may have even used one myself even though it's AWFUL! Can't we just say 'husband' 'partner' etc or is it a 'mumsnet identity thing'?

Personally I don't use DDog when writing about my dog but I can understand that for some people their (D)Cat/Dog/Hamster/snake, or even, stick insect can be far dearer to them than their PIA husband. So it really doesn't bother me.

I have got used to them but I am so bored of CF. Whilst I acknowledge there have been some clear examples of full throttle cheeky fuckery on mumsnet it now seems to be shoehorned in to any thread in which someone is considered to have done something slightly entitled. It am a bit weary of it now!

It's worse when people make up nicknames for their family members, derived from their mumsnet username.

So they'll be explaining something and say, for example,"Mr Tights likes onions but mini tights and tiny tights hate them. My friend emailed me and said "I can't keep track of who likes onions and who doesn't, Wool!"

I find it incredibly irritating.
