In loathing that see you next Tuesday and being terrified at the thought of him getting on Supreme Court? - Kavanaugh **Thread title edited by MNHQ at OP's request**

Apologies if there is already a thread on this, I couldn't find it.

I actually couldn't sleep last night seeing his vile face in my sleep.

Praying for an FBI investigation.

We're standing to have the most awful people on Supreme Court until my son is an adult.

It's terrifying.

Some of the comments I'm hearing from (mostly) men I thought were decent people are shocking me and breaking my heart. Both sides of the pond before anyone turns this in to an America bashing thread.

Good grief, sorry for the typos in the title! Blush

It might be an idea if you asked for the title to be changed - I'm really sorry but I can't work out what it means.

TeaStory · 28/09/2018 12:42

I’m not sure where your confusion arises, Possum? The OP thinks Kavanaugh is a cunt, loathes him and dreads the possibility of his being appointed to the Supreme Court.

glagdy · 28/09/2018 12:44

I spelt 'being' wrong and missed a 't' off of thought. It's hardly rocket science to work it out. Hmm

"In loathing that see you next Tuesday"

Needs more than a "being" to sort that out love.

YANBU not to want mr Kavanaugh as a Supreme Court Judge.

glagdy · 28/09/2018 13:01

I would have thought see you next Tuesday was fairly obvious to most people! Confused Love.

But sure, let's turn what's actually quite a horrific prospect in to a 'let's nit pick at the op' thread. Hmm

I think the scariest part of all of this going on is simply that we already know he'll get the position. All of this is just smoke and mirrors to tick a few boxes; he'll get the backing, the votes and spend the rest of his life making decisions on some of the biggest, most pertinent cases America has seen.

If he didn't do it, if he's been falsely accused, if by some miracle the other women coming forward have corroborated so out of spite or malice, if it's all made up by the opposition, what's the harm in the FBI conducting an investigation?

glagdy · 28/09/2018 13:09

@Idontbelieveinthemoon

I'm all for due process for sure.

Did you watch the hearing yesterday? My God it was a farce.

And they say women are over emotional!

I think just his display yesterday showed he's unfit to sit on the court irrespective of whether he committed the offences levelled at him (which I personally think he did, why would these women put themselves through hell and endanger themselves?).

BarbarianMum Have you really never heard C U Next Tuesday? Read the caps.

Hope that sorts that out love!

glagdy · 28/09/2018 13:41

quelle surprise Susan Collins' contact page appears to be down for maintenance. Hmm

I had never heard of C U next Tuesday. With the help of the urban dictionary I now understand the thread title. Blush

araiwa · 28/09/2018 17:18

Just write 'cunt'

BlackBeltInChildWrangling · 28/09/2018 17:24

Yes, there is another thread about this. Whatever your politics, whoever you believe after yesterday's testimonies, there should be a full and fair to all parties FBI investigation of all the allegations against him before the final vote. End of.

BlackBeltInChildWrangling · 28/09/2018 17:31

Having said that, if Trump can be made President and last this long with his history and all the allegations against him, then yes, this man can of course be made a SCJ, whatever the truth of the matter.

Yes I think this would be fair. However there are a lot of allegations that this case has been timed to delay the hearing past the midterms for the Democrats political advantage.

I’m sure nobody wants Blasey-Ford to have that hanging over her head. So obviously there would be cross party support in all three branches of the legislature for emergency legislation. Legislation which would allow the confirmation vote to be taken a by current group of senators after the investigation concludes regardless of the midterm results.

That seems like a good compromise which would avoid any suggestion these claims had been made for political gains.

glagdy · 28/09/2018 18:05

@araiwa I didn't know I was allowed to in the title lol!

Lots of people demonstrating today, and I have a couple of friends taking shifts sitting in Susan Collins' office, making their points. Her staff are taking notes... FWIW...

glagdy · 28/09/2018 18:51

The vote has been delayed.

Apparently an issue with Jeff Flake who said he vote him in this morning then got accosted by two rape survivors. Fingers crossed!

I called Collins today.

OP posts:
Geraldine170 · 28/09/2018 19:00

Jeff Flake says he will vote yes next week if the FBI investigate this week.

Which would be fair really. DEMs get their investigation, it will give plenty of time for a new nomination before midterms so everyone’s happy and nobody can say she did it to delay the vote.
