to think that my bump is enormous?

I keep being told how big my bump is for 34+5 (ish). MN, am I enormous? Is this a massive bump or is everyone lying to me? Grin I love my bump so will in no way take offence if you say 'yes you're a whale!!' I am just slightly concerned that I could have over 7 weeks left and am not sure what state this pregnancy is going to leave my already over stretched body in...

Don't usually post things like this but following from another thread, wondered what the consensus was.

Slightly miffed about the enormous stretch marks but hey ho...

I know IABU to even compare myself to others but I'm feeling rather rotund!

I was 56 inches round my middle with twins at 35 weeks. Never measured myself after that!

LetsHaveAnotherGo · 28/09/2018 16:18

Ah lovely beautiful bump!

My back aches for you though OP Grin I remember the discomfort all too well!

SpacePenguin · 28/09/2018 16:26

Wow, you look amazing. I wouldn't be able to help myself - I'd have to stop and tell you how amazing you look if I passed you.

I have a couple of friends who had extra sticky outy bumps, and they discovered later that they had diastasis recti. That's where the stomach muscles separate more than usual.

You know if you have a diastasis is your bump goes into a cone shape when you try to sit up from lying on your back.

If you do have that, I think there are some things to avoid and some exercises to try to keep things strong. And you may need to be extra careful about exercise afterwards. One friend went to a physio for quite a bit afterwards.

Beautiful bump. I too had a massive one with DS people always commenting about me being ready to drop off ar 34 weeks. I'm only 5'2''. Keep hearing that baby was bound to be big. He wasn't 'only' but he was the height of an average 3 months old, the tallest baby the hospital had measured in the last few years. He had to put his legs somewhere!

sourpatchkid · 28/09/2018 16:33

Woajh@hugebumppic - that is a HUGE bump! 💕

househunthappening · 28/09/2018 16:40

Yes it's big and as everyone else has said, totally beautiful!

I was quite similar, huge bump and all at the front. My best friend said from the back or face on I didn't really look pregnant but as I turned to the side I needed reversing beepers like an arctic lorry.

DS was 9lb 6 born and looked every bit of it, so I guess he needed the space.

WeeklyWarrior · 28/09/2018 17:16

Thank you!! I'm so uncomfortable. The idea of getting even bigger brings me to tears! Please be a 37 weeker 😩

UpstartCrow · 28/09/2018 17:17

I wasn't as big as you and I got stuck in the bath Grin

ToastyFingers · 28/09/2018 17:19

It's big and lovely.
I'm jealous, I had small babies and wasn't even that big at a week overdue.

WeeklyWarrior · 28/09/2018 17:22

@UpstartCrow don't bloody say that!!! Grin I have to roll on to my front in the bath and go on all fours to get out. So glamorous!

This was me at 35 weeks. I was a size 8 everywhere but by the end, maternity trousers just wouldn't cut it. I have a v short abdomen.

DS was 6lbs 13oz.

Totally beautiful.

Do work know yet?

Polkadot1502 · 28/09/2018 17:34

congratulations!! You've got an absolutely beautiful bump and you've just made me very broody!! I miss my huge bump!! Xx

hugebumppic · 28/09/2018 17:36

@ShowOfHands wow!!! Beautiful.

AnneLovesGilbert · 28/09/2018 17:41

You look gorgeous OP, love the dress too! Your poor back. Does anything help?

My arse is expanding with my belly which is balancing out my shape but it's suddenly popped this week and people have started coming to congratulate me at work without even asking!

Wishing you a safe arrival.

neversleepagain · 28/09/2018 17:45

I carried twins to 34 weeks. At 34+2 a entire tape measure wouldn't go around my bump. I was enormous!

Littlebluebird123 · 28/09/2018 19:00

Bless you. At least you can see you're not alone. :)

I was huge with all mine (very obviously pregnant from 8 weeks!), definitely similar bumps to yours and from the back didn't look pregnant really so think it felt more pronounced. Mine were 5lb13, 6lb13 and 7lb13 so none were big.
I don't think I was bigger from your stage on, but mine were all early so I dropped from 36 weeks and it looked less then. 😉
Managed to spring back pretty well and I was late 20's/early 30's.
Embrace the bump. :)

Littlebluebird123 · 28/09/2018 19:01

Oh and I found a bump band helped with the pain. :)

ForLikeEver · 28/09/2018 19:22

Great bump @WeeklyWarrior !

I’m 37 weeks today and carrying a huge bump up front. At 36 weeks my bump was measuring 41 weeks with the midwife. I have polyhydramnios (excess fluid) though. At 35 week scan baby was 6lb 11oz already. 😬 People in the street have been saying things like “any second/day now” for weeks. First baby was also carrying big - guess I just make them that way!

agnurse · 28/09/2018 20:14

Good size but you look great! Women can carry differently - some women carry all front (as it appears you are), some carry more on the side.

Crunchymum · 28/09/2018 20:16

I believe the phrase is "All bump" and indeed you are.

It's beautiful though. Embrace it!!

mintich · 28/09/2018 20:18

My bump is also enormous!! Yours looks big but neat!

loveskaka · 28/09/2018 20:25

I dnt think ur enormous, your nearly full term (37weeks is considered full term) I think you look neat and very beautiful!..... I loved my bump ❤️ x

Norma27 · 28/09/2018 20:25

It is a fab, neat bump. I was huge in my pregnancies but don’t have stretch marks. If I did have them, I would think of them as i do my c section scars as a beautiful reminder of my children.
Good luck with the birth xx

Norma27 · 28/09/2018 20:26

I meant to add that you will miss the bump when it is gone! I loved my big pregnancy belly!
