My car in garage - advice or please tell me to get a grip

This garage has in the past been great but this time they have had my car for 12 days without starting to mend it, and they have given me a courtesy car and when I have phoned up for info the receptionist implied that I am being pushy and entitled as I have a courtesy car.

The problem is the courtesy car (for which I am otherwise very grateful) really smells awful, as though a wet dog lived in it with something else old for months, the something else old being some indeterminable thing which must have just smelt really, really bad. I have tried to freshen it up but nothing works. I ended up getting a migraine last week because my shoulders had tensed up, and I have now relaxed my shoulders and the migraine has gone, and I am grateful for the courtesy car I really am but I just cannot stand the smell.

Do I put up with the wait and am I being entitled and pushy? What can I do?

12 days??!!! AIBU??

Get past the receptionist. Ask for the service manager. Ask for an ETA for your car. Then decide whether or not another garage would be better.

Thanks - I have - there are 2 owners and one who is usually amazing keeps telling me next couple of days, and I spoke to the 2nd a few days ago who told me it would be started on today. I get the impression that the 2nd one who is more senior keeps reordering cars to be done. I would have already moved it to another garage but this is the only good garage in the area.
