AIBU to moan if my ex cuts child support by £50 a month?

My ex-H was always tight with money.
Now he's married and expecting a new baby, he's told me he's cutting my son's child support by £50 a month.
My boy is 14 and needs man sized clothes and shoes and he wants to go out more, so needs pocket money.
We only had a verbal agreement on the money and I don't know how much he earns, so I don't know how much my boy is due, but we've had the same agreement for twelve years.
Do I just accept people's circumstances change and we all have to budget, or do I take him on about it?
And if so, how do I deal with it if he won't agree (which he really won't!)

@Bluelady

All our free newspapers are delivered by young teenagers.

Are you seriously suggesting a 14yo make up the shortfall in the CMS his dad owes his mum by getting a paper round?

Assuming he's been teaching for over 10 years, he would likely be on UPS3. That is ~40k assuming not London. Head of department adds extra to that, on average maybe 5k per year. Do a calc for what cms would be for 45k per year. If it's in line with the lower rate, go thru cms as they may well have records of his other job and then those earnings will count too. And he will be locked into a figure until your son is an adult, no changing when he fancies it.

I can't believe someone suggested the boy getting a paper round. OR his dad could just pay what he can surely afford with a deputy head role and his own business.

Honestly, some people

Honestly, some people

Yes, the usual shite. God forbid an ex should expect her child to be supported fairly. Should she expect the minimum payment set by the Government and not receive it, it’s her problem to solve and/or she’s just being a greedy bitch because, you know, he’s allowed to have more children. But now it’s the child’s problem to solve by getting a job. Why not shove him up a chimney and be done with it?

Fucking hell.

Babies are more expensive than teenagers

Maybe your son could earn his pocket money? He's old enough for a part time job, he could easily earn more than £50 a month.

What planet are some people on?
