Just got into my car to do the school run-(not parked right outside) , glanced at my front door and see a man standing there, stared at him while he put out his cigarette in the ashtray my ds keeps tucked beside a plant pot!! Then he walked off!!
Speechless tbh!!
Who has been your cf today?

@Powerless

Presumably, they contracted her for some work. They agreed a price and a pay deadline. She did the work and invoiced them. And now they are refusing to pay until 'their clients' pay them. That's not how business works. You pay your bills on top and if you can't afford the work then don't get it done. If the work is on behalf of your client then you get the money first.

'Their clients' could be fictional. Or real. But it doesn't matter. She did a job and they need to pay her on the agreed date. Not when they decide it suits them.

Years ago I used to work with a horrible older lady, who, at the time had a real issue with me only working early shifts when I returned to work after maternity leave. I was doing this as I was still breastfeeding, cue many arguments between myself and, lets call her Maggie. Anyway fast forward 13 months, and old Maggie managed to persuade our manager that she needed to do late shifts only, as, wait for it, she had a new PUPPY. And to add insult to injury she would only come strolling in at 2pm instead of 12pm. Oh how the red mist descended!!! C old F!!! Hmm

myusernameisnotmyusername · 25/09/2018 19:27

@perso25 that’s a common excuse. I’ve been a credit controller for 15 years- don’t accept that cf behaviour!

StrangeLookingParasite · 25/09/2018 19:58

How is that CF? If they don't have the money to pay you then they don't have it?!

Then they shouldn't be engaging people to do work for them. That is not an excuse AT ALL.

Boulty · 25/09/2018 20:14

Not huge but:
Our garden backs onto woodland (private and protected but adjoins other public woodland). People use to walk through and then up the back of the garden pass the side of the house open the gate and access via driveway to main road. I pointed out to a couple that our garden was private and got the "but we can see the main road and don't want to walk back through the woods" and carried on walking through my garden. Several people did this and some with dogs so we popped a fence up at end of garden between our private garden and private piece of woodland to stop them, seriously people think they can walk anywhere (PS there is no right of way through here just lazy people).

Boulty · 25/09/2018 20:17

Another one is an ex relative who ordered shoes many years ago from family members catalogue. Wore them out and then said didn't like them and returned them to family member who couldn't return them since worn and wouldn't pay since it's your catalogue you sort it out. Vile woman is no longer married to family married so very much ex now thankfully since one of a number of her CF ways.

Boulty · 25/09/2018 20:21

Oh and the lazy parents who park on the pavements preventing children from walking on them because they are too lazy to walk the 100 metres from the school where there is plenty of off road parking.

MadameButterface · 25/09/2018 20:24

They won't pay my invoice on the due date as they haven't been paid by some clients so need to cover their bills. No apology. Never mind me needing their payment to pay my own

I HATE this. I used to work for a woman who would come out with this regularly, i eventually told her that she was effectively getting me to cash flow her business’s bad debts and that i couldn’t afford to keep doing it.

Second in coffee shop queue at train station. I reached forward to take a chocolate twist croissant (the last one) out of the basket on counter in front of me, when man at front of queue slaps it out of my hand. “I’ve paid for that,” he snapped.
I apologise and retreat from the croissant battle.
Then 30 seconds later, the CF gets his bank card out to pay for said croissant and his coffee!!
I was too gobsmacked to protest that he had literally snatched a pastry out of the hands of a heavily pregnant woman.

Fiffyshadesofgreymatter · 25/09/2018 20:36

@ironic

He probably had said to the cashier "I will have a coffee and the chocolate twist" and they would have started the coffee order and then put it all through the till. Just because he hasn't physically paid doesn't make a difference. He was first and bed ordered it. He just didnt pick it up until he had paid. I don't pick the stuff up until I've ordered it and paid. Not really a CF for that. You just jumped the gun a bit.

He is however and complete dick for slapping you.

Fiffyshadesofgreymatter · 25/09/2018 20:37

*a not and. There's also a comma missing. Bloody phone!

madeoficecream · 25/09/2018 20:37

A relative had sent me a present that I was not interested in but was a popular thing. I decided to give it to a charity shop. My friend came over and saw this item by the door and asked why it was there. I told her it was to remind me to take it to the charity shop the next time I went out. She said 'oh thats alright ill take it when I leave now' so I said that was very kind of her and let her take it...

Her boyfriend mentioned in a convo the other day that she had been delighted with the money she had got for it on ebay.....

I didnt say anything because it wouldve been petty but I was a bit Hmm internally!

If he had done that to me when I was heavily pregnant. I would have either cried or chinned him, depending on my hormones

halfchocolate · 25/09/2018 20:53

matilda either he's a CF for using your address or the victim support has taken at least 16 years to address his crime!

My CF story..postman left a huge box with my house number but wrong road (similar sounding). The right address was a couple of miles away so I drove to the right address with the parcel, (twice as she wasn't in first time). As I tried to hand the box over, she said she had changed her mind and didn't want the item! There was a bit of to-ing and fro-ing of whose job it was to return the item!! She did reluctantly accept the parcel. When it happened again a few weeks later, I quietly left the parcel in her porch and didn't knock this time.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 25/09/2018 21:06

NoLightInTheTunnel your ex threw away your dds’ birthday cake? That’s not cheeky, that’s downright fucking nasty. Poor little girls.

UpstartCrow · 25/09/2018 21:09

OK I've got a good one. Our meter reader has been sacked because he was just sitting at home and guessing.
Luckily it worked out in my favour but I nearly had a heart attack when I got the letter.

My DS, 9, Had a sleepover party for his birthday a few months back, He had invited 5 kids, so there were 6 including him. I text the parents a few days before hand and said that they will be "dossing" it on the living room floor, they could bring something for their kids to sleep on if preferred. I was thinking a sleeping bag, or maybe a yoga mat.None of the kids bought anything to sleep on (more fun that way-apparently) apart from one.....who bought a blowup mattress!!! I actually thought his mum was joking when she told me when she dropped him off, but, nope. I couldn't believe it, he blew it up (with the electric pump he bought with him) right in the middle of the room while telling the other kids to mind out the way of his bed! Unbelievable!

Standing in one of two queues for luggage drop at the airport. One was being used, the other wasn’t - it was clearly marked for priority and disabled customers. In the queue there was me with a walking stick and a lady behind me with crutches.

The queue we were in was being policed (badly) by an airline employee but when she was in discussion with someone else a couple walked by, looked at the massive queue for self drop and the walked up the empty space and skipped in front of us all.

The second time this happened I ended up shouting over to the employees at the desk as I was so annoyed and in not inconsiderable pain. I was told I had nothing to worry about because my plane wasn’t for ages when I got to the desk having pushed in front of someone else who was cutting in Hmm

PurplePenguins · 25/09/2018 22:04

Got to the station behind a woman who went down on the platform and straight into the toilet. A train came but was packed so, as I had time, I let it go. Only 1 or 2 people on the platform now and the woman comes out of the toilets with a sling on. Train comes it is crowded but not sardines so we board. She then tells everyone she needs space as she has a broken shoulder. Someone gives up their seat saying if she sits she won't get knocked etc. We get off at the same station where she goes into the toilets again. Wait for a friend outside the shop next to toilets and see the woman again minus the sling 😲.

Haggishaggispudding · 25/09/2018 22:04

*three queues in total, self drop - massive queue. Then desk drop x 2 - first with two obviously limited mobility customers in it plus others then queue which wasn’t in use.
